Good early pressure anticipated with a large number of unraced runners. PRIVATEER (11) showed good early dash and held on well to finish a head back in second over 1200m at Mornington. Raced a $3.3F, so the improved effort was anticipated. She's in a top metro yard and is well placed to go one better. SUPER CHOICE (6) is also in good hands. Led and just missed at Seymour on debut and jumped a $2.2F over 1200m at Pakenham first-up and looked a run short. The blinkers are applied for the first time, and he will ride the speed from an inside gate. Quick improvement is on the cards. WARREGO (8) was in the market over 1425m at Geelong first-up but was well beaten. Post-race vetting revealed a slower-than-normal recovery. He's had a month away, and John Allen stays aboard. A much better effort is likely. DAGGER ONE (1) debuts with the blinkers on, and he's looked good at the jumpouts. On what we've seen, he deserves a betting watch. SUGGESTED PLAY: Privateer to win.
