All In Vain, Red Stiletto and Ryanman can set up a solid gallop. BATOKA CHIEF (1) spiked his figures beaten 2.5 lengths over 1600m at Pakenham two weeks ago. ran it out well and should appreciate the longer journey. Fitter again and is ideally placed to play a pivotal role. RYANMAN (3) was well in the market but didn't have the best of luck over 1600m at Seymour. Led beaten a whisker over 1450m at this track three starts back, suggesting better things to come. Expect him to run the 1890m right out and go close. ALOYSIUS (2) peaks and has been racing in stronger benchmarks. Lacked finishing dash over 1600m at Pakenham last time and disappointed over 1500m as a $3F at Ballarat the one before. Showed plenty early doors and no surprise to see improvement over this distance. ALL IN VAIN (4) is third-up and has strong synthetic form over middle distances. Has had two starts this preparation and hasn't done a lot at big odds. Should be ready to show something. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Batoka Chief.
