Good early pressure anticipated with a large number of first starters. SILK LACE (8) resumes, and two back ran into a place here on debut. Settled rearward in tougher Hawkesbury following and wasn't disgraced. Owns a 1L Kembla Grange trial win and is going to come back sharper. The 2kg claim is handy, but he will need a good ride from an outside barrier. Rates tough to beat if that works out. SWEET ROSE (9) raced on a heavy track at Nowra on debut, beaten 0.9 lengths at the end of 1000m. Was well supported, and she will be tough to roll around here with the extra fitness. FARNANHEIT (2) has switched from a top Victorian stable on a 60-day return. MELODIA PERFECTA (4) has disappointed twice as the favourite this preparation and showed plenty of promise in his previous campaign. The gate is tricky, but Boudvillain is engaged, and his best form would see him right in it. REDS EXPRESS (7) resumes, and the ex-Victorian has her first full preparation for the Clarke yard. Wasn't beaten far here when last seen, and his VIC provincial form certainly stacks up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Silk Lace
