Cracking tempo with Sports Mode and Rangatoo leading the way. CONISTON SPICE (4) gets the nod. Two runs to date haven't been bad, fourth on debut here before an even run at Hamilton in a bunched finish when getting too far back. To 1300m now suits ideally and she draws to sit just off the pace for the top yard. BAIE DE SEINE (1) is a gelding by Omaha Beach on debut for the Cully stable who comes here off an Ararat trial placing. Expected to measure up first time out. CHEERS TO US (3) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1300m at this track, beaten just a long neck. Further improvement sees her right in the finish. SAKURA JENNI (10) is a filly by Ocean Park on debut for the Stanley yard, watch the betting. BON AURELIA (2) struggled in a much tougher maiden last time, this suits better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Coniston Spice to win.
