Off the low draw Parmenio should lead at a genuine tempo. Tough race with plenty of chances. MERCHANT GOLD (6) lightly raced gelding with upside. Kept fresh for this and back in trip after surging late in the soft going when third over 1400m at Eagle Farm on February 15. Fitted with an 800m tick over trial. Good enough to get over the top of these. ONYSPEED (12) beaten for early speed when up in class for an eye-catching eighth over this trip at Randwick in Highway company. Goes close. STRAAND CARE (11) sharp maiden winner two back at Scone, before covering ground in the run when a battling fourth over 900m at this track. Senior rider engaged and sure to be thereabouts again. RITZSUN (4) hard fit for this and had excuses in the heavy (10) going when third over 1100m at Scone. On the quick back up and due for a change of luck. SUGGESTED PLAY: Merchant Gold to go close.
