Genuine pace with Thaimor taking up the running ahead of Manapouri and Forever Jeune. MANAPOURI (2) will take plenty of beating in what looks a two horse race. He's a lightly raced five-year-old gelding who has just found one better in both starts to date, right in the market on both occasions. Back in trip is interesting but he draws well and will be very hard to run down. The danger is clearly SILK SONIC (8) who worked home nicely at Moe over this trip first up as a $2.60 chance, beaten 1.75 lengths. Could settle closer here from the good draw and any improvement sees her go close. SNOWBALL (9) has rough place claims on best form while NIGHTIME STAR (13) resumes off a poor run on debut at Geelong having had things against on that occasion. Can be an improver. SUGGESTED PLAY: Manapouri to win.
