Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a genuine tempo. PRINCE OF EGYPT (5) is better than his last start run would suggest as he was reported to be not striding out. His penultimate run when fourth over 1200m at Kenilworth was decent. He is the stable elect with JP van der Merwe in the saddle and may be the one to side with. DAY IN DAY OUT (10) ran a fair race when second over 1200m at Kenilworth last time. The blinkers remain fitted. He is likely to race on the speed and should be competitive in this field. WATERFRONT (1) is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Adam Marcus stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. MAN OF CONSEQUENCE (4) has finished fifth in both starts to date. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and there should be improvement to come.
