Little early pressure expected in a race devoid of an on-pacer. ZINOTAR (10) was an eye-catcher fresh when rattling home to just miss at the Sunshine Coast. Was sent around favourite last start and will only be further improved with that run under his belt. The booking of Orman is a good push. Looks the one to beat. PIERRE CARDINNIGAN (6) couldn't live up to market expectations on debut but was also a fast finisher. Is another likely improver that should be making his presence felt. BOOMROUX (11) chased gamely into the frame when resuming off a long break (388 days) at Eagle Farm. Treading carefully second-up but definitely deserves consideration. PIMPERNEL (7) gave backers a bold sight last start at Doomben, only to fade late. Strips fitter and is drawn to advantage. Expect him to be in this for a very long way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Zinotar.
