Pace strong with Last Car To Pass and Annewithan E pressing forward and Mary Read kicking up from the inside alley. LAST CAR TO PASS (1) followed up her impressive debut victory over 1400m at this track with a good third-place finish over 1600m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She should like the rise to 1800m and with Piere Strydom in the saddle she looks the runner to beat. MARY READ (3) stayed on well when third over this course and distance last time out. She jumps from pole position and is one of the leading contenders. ANNEWITHAN E (2)quickened up well when winning her last start over 1600m on the Classic course when sent out as the favourite. She returns from a spell and it is encouraging that Gavin Lerena retains the ride and she merits healthy respect. SNEAK PREVIEW (6) is better than her last start run over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course would suggest. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from seven starts on this course. On best form shown she should be involved at the finish.
