Strong tempo, primarily from Aspen Boulevard and Vicious Rumour. VICIOUS RUMOUR (14) returned from a seven-month spell for new trainer Michael Mulholland over this trip at Dubbo recently. Started warm favourite on that occasion but found one better after leading for home. Open to plenty of improvement and in a race that lacks depth he looks poised to break through. DIVINE BELLE (5) was poor last start over 1375m at Cowra but did place at her only try at 1100m. Fitter for two runs back from a spell so she can bounce back. FRENCH HARP (9) hasn't been too far away at her last couple following a nine-week let-up. Nicely drawn and should give a good account. ASPEN BOULEVARD (1) showed pace but capitulated when resuming over 1000m at Orange recently. Gets a host of gear changes which may lead to a more resilient effort here. Hard to make a case for the rest, with ANGRY BET (15) the pick of those. SUGGESTED PLAY: Vicious Rumour will be short. Take exactas 14-5, 14-9 and 14-1.
