Has never missed the frame when third-up from a break so a big run is on the cards. VALAR (4) is a last-start winner over 1400m at this track, showing good early speed on the occasion and leading throughout to score by one length. Sota Hijikata who has scored on her seven times retains the mount. Best form puts her right in this. TAMBA BUSHO (8) has been in the market at his last couple of runs since resuming but failed to threaten, the latest effort a modest seventh at this track over 1400m. Look for a better run this time out. SULFUR (1) started at $2.40 last time but could only manage fifth at this track over 1230m. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Deserves respect on best figures.
