High Pins should lead and dictate terms. DON PAULY (1) ran on too late on the turf here nearly 3 weeks ago when finishing fourth over 2000m. He has form on a poly surface, and with a drop back to BM60 grade, he will be the one to beat. SHOCKABELLA (6) has been disappointing overall, but does finally get a decent draw this season after 3 nasty gates this prep, including her last couple on the turf here. A form reversal is on the cards. Each-way value. WRY SMILE (4) has been mixing his form in the North Island, and he will find the company down here more to his liking. His last run was 8 weeks ago, but he has trialled since then, and with the aid of a 2kg claim, he can't be taken lightly. Check the market moves. SCHEDAR (7) has had a couple of gear changes since her last start, eighth on a heavy turf track here nearly 3 weeks ago. She is meeting a modest field, and a top 4 finish is not beyond her.
