Genuine tempo anticipated with good speed engaged. CARNARVON (7) hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. He set the pace over 1400m at Turffontein last time before getting outrun late. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may find himself in the winner's enclosure. EMOYENI (5) has decent form lines to his credit. He showed speed over 1000m on the polytrack last time but found one too good on the day. Resumes from a spell and if not in need of the run he should pose a threat. LITTLE CRACKER (1) set the pace over this course and distance last time and stayed on well to finish fourth. He jumps from pole position and may be hard to peg back. EL CAPITAN (10) was his own worst enemy over 1600m last time as he over raced in the early stages. His form prior to that outing was good. He drops back to 1200m and tries the polytrack. With a bit of luck in the running should be involved in the fight to the finish.
