YUYU STARRY (3) turned in a fine effort to win by 1.3 lengths at this track and distance last time out to continue her outstanding recent form. Finds another suitable race and can figure in the finish. SORBET (4) turned in a solid fresh performance last start when a minor placegetter over 1600m at this track, beaten 3 lengths. Has a strong second-up record, including a win and two minor placings, and will strip much fitter for this. Among the winning hopes. KAZU PIREAS (10) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish fourth over 1600m at this track. Will push forward and is among the chances. THURSTON TRUST (11) had been in top form landing two consecutive wins but last start missed the frame when fourth over 1600m at this track. Should be poised just off the lead. Deserves respect on best figures.
