NUM TIME COMMENT
1 03:55 Race 1 1300m
KISEKINO KISEKI (2) is a cautious top pick in a modest 2yo COND over 1300m, with the 51kg and class drop helping offset a plain recent run from the back. MANA KUKINI (6) has been safely held in two starts, but his latest sixth behind Star Of Charge had more substance than most here and he is better placed third-up with 52kg. DAIMEI SAGA (4) was backed on debut and made some late impression from well back, so he has upside if the extra ground suits. MANA LA HIKI (7) brings Mombetsu form that needs lifting, while WIN FLAG (8) must rebound sharply from a heavy debut defeat.
2 04:25 Race 2 1300m
SHIZURI (2) is the starting point after winning a 3yo+ C2 at Saga three weeks ago, beating Ardior by half a length while carrying 51kg, the same weight she gets here. Her previous 1860m failure was plain, but the return to a more suitable 1300m set-up and her strong Saga record give her the clearest winning profile. KURINO ORION (4) improved sharply when second to North Gloria at this track at big odds and brings a closing style that suits if the tempo is honest, though she still needs to prove that run was no one-off. LEGEND (7) was much better last start when fourth, beaten two and a half lengths by Mikki Gentle, and the Manato Hida association reads well. MARIETTY (1) has the inside draw and proven Saga credentials, but must rebound from a fair eighth. CESA SUNRISE (8) can press on from the wide barrier and gives the race its main pace shape, while the others among the selections are more likely to be ridden off speed.
3 05:00 Race 3 1800m
KEIAI ANTARES (6) sets the standard after a narrow second to Ford Tesoro at Saga and a strong 1400m win here the run before; his track-and-distance record and outstanding partnership with Manato Hida give him the clearest winning profile. ULTRA NO HOSHI (9) is the immediate danger, resuming with a third as favourite and bringing a strong overall strike rate, though he must turn the tables on Keiai Antares from their latest meeting. STAR OF FAITH (1) was below his best last start but his 3yo+ A1 win two back keeps him firmly in the race. A SHIN ENBARR (4) and Keiai Antares look likely to press forward with Ultra No Hoshi, so the tempo may be genuine enough for STAR OF FAITH AND GET THE FAME (3) to work into it late.
4 05:35 Race 4 1400m
STEVE (2) is the top selection despite a plain first-up seventh over 1750m, where he was beaten over 17 lengths after settling back and weakening. The case rests on the return to 1400m, his strong Saga record and the memory of a dominant 3yo COND win here two starts ago. MOZUNO SHIAWASE (6) is the obvious danger, with a terrific track-and-distance profile and a last-start second to Only Love that reads well for this. HAPPINESS MIND (8) was disappointing as favourite last time but had won clearly the run prior, while SHOSAN KANAO (9) brings a last-start win and maps to race handy. WIN TITANIA (5) is more a place hope after following a win with a well-held run.
5 06:05 Race 5 1400m
MRS JONES (9) sets the standard after putting seven lengths on her rivals at Saga last start, and the way she extended suggests she can cope with this C2 assignment despite having to come from off the pace. COSMO ROMA (7) is the natural danger, coming off a narrow odds-on win here and likely to control or share the speed, which gives him a genuine tactical edge. B GIRL (2) is the seasoned, reliable option, with excellent Saga 1400m credentials and recent winning form. FUKURAI KIRISHIMA (3) maps forward and has been close enough at her past two to hold a place claim. CAPTAIN REGALO (8) is the wildcard: recent longer-distance form is poor, but his track-and-trip record demands respect.
6 06:35 Race 6 1400m
FUKUNO SUNANO BARA (2) draws to control the race and looks the horse to beat despite being rolled as an odds-on favourite here last start, when he led and battled on for second in a 3yo+ COND. NOBU NORI O (12) is the obvious danger after successive Saga wins, most recently scoring by five lengths from Kaparamip, though the wide barrier asks a slightly different question. SEI BLUE EYE (11) comes back from 1750m after tiring into third and is better judged on her five-length win here two back. MIKONO ONGAESHI (6) has to erase a heavy last-start defeat but her previous third keeps her in the mix for exotics. ECORO SHINE (1) maps to settle back from the inside and can improve if she recaptures her close second two runs ago.
7 07:05 Race 7 1400m
JEWELRY OF LOVE (4) has the most appealing recent winning profile, having scored here last start as a well-supported favourite and she gets to the right stage of the campaign. FUTARI SAISON (2) has been highly consistent with consecutive seconds, draws to use her speed, and her track-and-distance record keeps her firmly in the contest. KASHINO FREUDE (8) is another last-start winner and arrives in honest form, though she may have to work from wider out with Futari Saison also expected to press forward. SLAVA (5) is better than the last two runs read at this track and distance, while ARROGANT SHAME (1) needs improvement but maps to get a kinder midfield run from the inside.
8 07:35 Race 8 1400m
ONLY LOVE (8) gets the first look after putting together consecutive Saga wins, most recently beating Mozuno Shiawase by half a length as a dominant odds-on favourite. The map is a major part of her appeal, as she is the key selection most likely to race on speed while several dangers settle off the pace. ARDIOR (4) has been beaten half a length at his past two starts, including when odds-on behind Shizuri, and his record at this track and distance keeps him right in the contest. HOSUMANI EN (11) produced the biggest last-start margin in the race, winning by six lengths here from a rearward position, though he has to prove that spike was no one-off. WINKLE KISEKI (1) drops back from 1750m after finishing seventh and has the profile of a closer who can run into the money. AIROSO (10) was second at long odds last start and has genuine Saga 1400m form, but still needs to build on that.
9 08:10 Race 9 1300m
IASON TESORO (3) sets the benchmark after back-to-back dominant Saga wins, most recently putting seven lengths on Pan Tesoro after travelling behind the speed and quickening clear. RISING HEARTH (5) is the main danger, having turned a sound second to Bizantino into a six-length win here as odds-on favourite, and he should again land close enough from an on-pace pattern. HERAKLES TESORO (2) maps well from barrier two and was only pipped late last start after winning a 3yo COND here at big odds the run prior, so he has the right profile to test the top pair. PICK UP LUCK (10) was only fair first-up but has better prior 3yo COND form and can improve second-up if the race is run to suit. ALL NIPPON (11) has minor claims after placing here, though she was safely held as favourite and needs a sharper finish.
10 08:40 Race 10 1300m
KAIRI QUEEN (3) sets the standard after bouncing back to win a 3yo+ C2 over this course and distance by two lengths as an odds-on favourite, and the inside half of the draw gives her every chance to hold that form. NANGOKU CANDLE (1) has been plain at her past two, but the 51kg, barrier one and two prior wins at this track and distance keep her in the discussion if she rebounds. IKENO ASACHAN (10) was more dominant than Kairi Queen last start, scoring by five lengths, though barrier 10 asks her to work into the race. LEGENDIZE (4) has the most consistent recent profile, closing for third after a solid fourth, but he has placed often here without winning. KASHINO FLEX (8) needs to improve off two unplaced runs, yet market respect last time and a sound jockey-horse record make him a minor danger.
