NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:50 Congratulations Bevan Laming QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1400m
Not a great deal of speed on paper so it may be left to one of the first starters to roll to the front. PAC FAIR (2) was well in the betting at Ipswich on debut but just ran into a couple better on that occasion. Was then tipped out for further time to furnish and has since tuned up for this with two recent trials. Where there's smoke there's fire and should be going very close. TED LASSO (3) is unlucky to still be a maiden hitting the top-four in all four outings to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Looms as the main danger. MISS INFORMED (9) has been thereabouts at the past few efforts and looks to be building up to a maiden victory. Top-three contender. TISANI JAMES (8) will be ready to peak now fourth run back and may earn some minor money. RADOMIR (6) next in line.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 2,3,9.
2 01:24 The Industry School Maiden Plate 1000m
Expecting Shaque D'amour to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. CARDONETTE (5) resumes here but has shown enough in previous preparations to warrant serious consideration in a race like this. Has placed two of two over this distance range and gets Cartwright on board from the favourable draw. Trust that Gollan has her up to the mark. VAREJAO (4) has placed over this track and trip, gets a stack of weight off with the 3kg claim and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Ticks a few boxes. MAGIC INVADER (2) has placed two from two over this course and distance and will be ready to peak now third run back from the spell. In the mix. DUCHESS DIFFICULT (7) resuming from a break. Looking good in recent hit-outs including a win in her most recent trial at Doomben. Opened last campaign with a second at Sunshine Coast over 1000m. Key runner fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cardonette to break the maiden status.
3 02:00 Poco Vino @ Pink Ribbon Book Now RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1730m
There should be a bit of pressure with Weekend Artist and Spot The Aussie pressing forward in advance of All About Artie and Tartan Tiger. The well-related WEEKEND ARTIST (1) (half to G3 winner and G2 placed I'm All The Talk) was okay at the Gold Coast last time out but go on the solid Sunny Coast victory two back. Has placed around this circuit and gets some well-needed weight relief with the 3kg claim. Rates the testing material against this line-up. MONTE CARLO MISS (7) doesn't win out of turn but is usually about the money and should get a cosy run in transit from the inside marble. A must for the exotics players. CHAYSE 'N' PENNY (3) is one from one over this distance range and will be better with that first-up hit-out now in the locker. Top-three credentials. CALIFORNIA GRASS (6) brings NSW formlines to the table and any push in betting should be noted. SPOT THE AUSSIE (4) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Weekend Artist.
4 02:39 Gavin Pedler Memorial Cup OPEN Handicap 1400m
Flying Bat and Atmosphere can lead the small field. SLIPPIN' JIMMY (1) has been plying his trade in Saturday metro company of late and will appreciate the drop back in grade here. Rock-hard fit now fourth run back and should be right there when the whips are cracking. FLYING BAT (5) has placed over this track and trip and gets in well at the weights with Apel's claim. Can make his presence felt. ATMOSPHERE (2) saves his best form for this trip and is much better than the recent effort suggests. Can bounce right back without surprising. DEEP RESPECT (3) got the job done over this course and distance last time out and will have derived some confidence from that victory. In the mix. FORT WILLIAM (6) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Slippin' Jimmy.
5 03:14 Happy Birthday Stacca 0 - 58 Handicap 1200m
Purosangue is the likely leader at a keen tempo. LA PROFECIA (5) hasn't been too far off them in town of late and should find this assignment a touch easier than recent outings. Cherry-ripe fit for this and maps ideally from gate three. Sure to play a major role in the outcome. PUROSANGUE (1) has a win and a second from two attempts over this trip, gets 3kg off with the claim and draws the inside alley. Plenty to like about his prospects. HOMERIC (7) was a touch plain at the latest effort but the two runs prior were full of merit. Watch for a spike in form. CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS (11) strips fitter second-up from the break and may earn some minor money.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 5,1,7,11.
6 03:49 Tooleys Memorial Class 3 Plate 1800m
Power Reece to take up the running at a moderate tempo. MISHANI WITNESS (2) got the job done at Ipswich two back before not being disgraced at Saturday metro level last time out. Gets some weight off with the 2kg claim and can do much better in this more suitable affair. The penny has dropped for BRAIN WAVE (7) who has put back-to-back wins together and is racing high on confidence of late. Draws the inside alley and is a big chance to bring up the hat-trick. POWER REECE (11) put in an improved performance at the latest effort and Cartwright sticks in the irons. Top-three commodity. NAUGHTY NURSE (9) is one from one around this circuit and must be respected out of the Lees barn. A must for the multiples. SOLIDUDE (4) best of the rest with the claim.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Mishani Witness.
7 04:29 Lainey Loneragan Cup Class 1 Plate 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Percolate. MYTHOLOGY (10) has a handy record over this distance range with a win and a placing from just two attempts and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and gets the reliable Gollan/Cartwright combination. Plenty of upside and should be right there at the business end. SMASHING NOVA (3) hasn't been too far away in recent outings and looks to be working up to another victory. Strong top-three prospects on best figures. WELCOME ADVICE (14) returned in fine fashion with a strong Doomben win and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Don't dismiss lightly. ARTISTIC ENDEAVOUR (1) knuckled down strongly when finished a nose from the winner here. Should be winding up late again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 10,3,14,1.
8 05:04 TAB BM65 Handicap 1200m
Lumens Lenny should spear straight to the front of the small field. Open race to close out the card. It's hard to knock the form of FLYING VENTO (9) who has strung two wins together to start the career and is racing high on confidence. The 1200m should be right in his wheelhouse and can bring up the hat-trick against this line-up. IMPACT ZONE (10) returns from a lay-off. Recent trial winner at Sunshine Coast. Opened last campaign with a sixth at Doomben over 1110m. Can feature fresh. SUM INVICTUS (14) could only manage fifth at his latest appearance over 1200m at Ipswich. Finds a suitable race and look for an improved run. LUMENS LENNY (5) mixes his form but can feature on best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Flying Vento to win again.
