Pacific Fuel Solutions Maiden Plate 1620m
Expecting Gasoline Rainbow to take up the running with Shujinko and Lune Lumineuse close at hand. LUNE LUMINEUSE (9) was responsible for a solid effort last time out when third at Warrnambool over 1400m, beaten 1.3 lengths. That run should have her rock-hard fit now. SUNDAY VENDETTA (5) missed the frame on debut then progressed nicely at his second outing, finishing 5 lengths from the winner in third after working home well at the end of 1400m at Echuca. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. GASOLINE RAINBOW (7) has been in the placings at her last two starts, finishing third last time over 1600m at Warracknabeal. In the mix again. PHILHARMONIC (3) has a tricky draw to contend with but will be better for the first-up run and has placed at 1600m. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lune Lumineuse to win. |

Russ Studio Jewellers Maiden Plate 1350m
Solid tempo anticipated with Come Dancing and Gresford pressing forward with You Said What not far away. Race knocked around by scratchings, which leaves YOU SAID WHAT (12) as top pick. Wasn't disgraced at Wangaratta last time and this looks a step below that class wise. Drawing the inside alley was the icing on the cake. SACRE BLEU (2) has had seven starts, but most in better races than this and will be better for a couple of jumpouts. His problem is the wide gate but the fact he's running is a good sign the stable thinks he might be able to overcome it. MILLSY'S AWARD (1) was woeful on debut but was put away after it and ran a much improved race last time out. Will have taken fitness benefit from that and suited up in trip. BELLE FLAME (5) hasn't done much in two trials this time in, but this is a suitable distance first up and the form last prep matches up nicely for this type of race. SUGGESTED PLAY: You Said What to win. |

Goldacres Maiden Plate 1200m
Blue Valentine to take charge ahead of Titus Augustus at a good tempo. DAMA ROYALE (5) resumes from a spell of five-and-a-half months and while she could only manage seventh at the latest run over 1400m at Ballarat she was placed in a very strong metro maiden the start prior. Has had the benefit of two trials leading into this and should be ready to go. SNEAKY RUSSIAN (3) wasn't far away first up last start when fourth over 1000m at Pakenham Synthetic. Will definitely appreciate the longer journey with that run under the belt and shapes as a genuine threat. BLUE VALENTINE (4) finished second, beaten 1.3 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1170m at Wangaratta after she was in the firing line on the bend. Likely improver with strong prospects. MOLVENO (7) was terrible first up, but had trialled nicely before that and gets blinkers here, so might be worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dama Royale to win. |

Donald Steel Metaland 0 - 56 Handicap 1200m
The Mariner and Dazelles to take up the running at a genuine tempo. They bring form from far and wide for this one. SA visitor DAZELLES (9) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish 2.25 lengths away in third over 1200m at Strathalbyn. Drawn to stalk the leaders. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. THE MARINER (13) went forward and gave a great sight before finishing third last time out over 1200m at Casterton, which followed a win at Port Augusta that appears to have turned his form around. COSMIC CHARGER (1) should be at peak fitness now after three runs back from a spell and they have been in tougher races than what he meets here, so don't be shocked if he bobs up. OWL WITNESS (2) generally needs BM52s to be a winning chance but can pull out a run in this grade and warrants consideration for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dazelles to win. |

Michaels of Donald 0 - 56 Handicap 1000m
Raging Monkey and Kasami will press forward in a keen battle for the lead. FLYING STRAZ (6) was narrowly beaten last start when second in a small field over 1000m at Warracknabeal. That followed a similar good run first up, so should be at peak fitness now and can go one better. ROCKCLIFF (2) has lost his way a touch the past couple, but they followed two great runs to start the prep which, significantly, were here, so getting back to this track looks in his favour. EL SALTO (3) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was never in contention over 1000m at Tatura, beaten 4 lengths into seventh. This looks a more suitable assignment. RAGING MONKEY (5) is a light of better days but was only a length off Flying Straz three back, so he warrants consideration. SUGGESTED PLAY: Flying Straz to win. |

Fiorowngood to take charge ahead of Just Swift at a solid tempo. KAWA (6) went back early from her wide draw over 2100m at Ballarat Synthetic last time but hit the line strongly to finish fourth. Been going around in better-quality races than this of late and draws to advantage. FOREVER JEUNE (8) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 3/4 of a length away in fourth last time out over 2000m at Warracknabeal. Another who has the talent to win but has a tricky gate. JUST SWIFT (7) was a strong maiden winner last time up to 2100m, so looks only further advantaged by the extra trip here. FIOROWNGOOD (1) got off the mark over 2000m at Casterton last start, scoring by 1.75 lengths. He's been consistent all prep and can be relied upon for an honest showing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kawa to win. |

Wimmera Barrier Attendants 0 - 56 Handicap 1620m
The Stock Route to take charge ahead of Thoughtful at a solid tempo. CHARLECOTE MILL (7) finished second at Hamilton two runs back but didn't measure up last time over 1600m at Warracknabeal, finishing 4 lengths back in eighth. She looked a horse of some talent earlier in the year and while she is struggling to rediscover that form, this looks well within her grasp. THOUGHTFUL (2) finished third two runs back at Hamilton then improved last time out to score by a neck over 1600m at Warracknabeal. Tom Madden scored on him last time and retains the mount, which looks a plus. TUDAYA (6) has been up for a while but is generally around the mark in this company. WHISTLER GIRL (10) has run improved races at her past two and is worthy of consideration again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Charlecote Mill to win. |
