1 12:30 4RACING WELCOMES YOU MAIDEN HANDICAP 1450m
STEEL PIER (2) is a six-start maiden who was in the placings at his last two starts, finishing second at the latest appearance over 1400m at Vaal. Blaine Marx-Jacobson stays aboard and although yet to win has been in the money on two occasions. Overdue and has the inside. Bold showing expected. KWAITO (4) is a three-start maiden who resumed from a spell last start and was beaten 3.5 lengths when fourth over 1200m at this track. Will take a lot from that hit-out and looks a strong chance to break through. ELISA MBALI (1) remains a maiden after 12 runs. Met with plenty of support last time but could only manage to finish fourth over 1600m at Vaal. Finds the right race and is worth consideration. CLOSE ENCOUNTER (5) resumes from a spell of seven months and is having his first outing under new trainer Mike & Mathew De Kock. Finished tenth at Kenilworth over 1400m at the opening run last time in work.
2 01:05 #YOUCANBETONUS! CLASSIFIED STAKES 2000m
ITSNOWORNEVER (2) improved sharply on his fifth two starts back at Vaal with a win as favourite over 2000m at Vaal nine days ago, getting home by 6 lengths. Out to open class but drops in weight and had a space on them last time. Sure to go well again. GUERILLA WARFARE (3) really dug deep to score by one length three runs back at Turffontein Standside before filling a minor placing at his last two starts. Winning rider Philasande Mxoli sticks. Should be in the finish. ROSY LEMON (8) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 2400m at Vaal, beaten only 2 lengths. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. UTSAAH (4) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1800m at Vaal, beaten 2.75 lengths into fourth. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.

GALLIC VICTOR (2) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 11 starts. Was again denied last start when he found a couple better over 1600m at Vaal. First try here but speedy type who is overdue for a win. Take catching. SANDS OF VALHALLA (3) travelled in a rearwards position then made some inroads and finished 4 lengths away in seventh last time out over 1200m at Greyville when fresh from a spell. Steps up in distance today. Huge class drop and expected to be in the finish. TOP FLOOR (1) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1600m at Vaal, beaten 4 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time. PALACE ATTACK (4) resumed three weeks ago over 1600m at Scottsville and was only beaten 1.1 lengths into fourth. Fitter so expect a better run this time.

PRESSONREGARDLESS (1) is back after a break of three-and-a-half months. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1400m at Turffontein Standside. Resuming in easier grade. Expecting a bright start to the campaign. CALLA LAGOON (7) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1600m at this track when he made late ground, beaten 5.5 lengths. Fitter for that run. Capable of another strong performance.

BISOU BISOU (1) performed above expectations last time over 1200m in Group 2 grade at Greyville, finishing 1.1 lengths from the winner in second after starting at huge odds. Promising galloper placed in far tougher company last time and will go close here. RIVERA (4) is a promising filly yet to miss the frame after two starts, including a win. Last appeared when she scored over 1160m at Turffontein Standside on July 11. Too speedy to get off the mark before a break and will take catching fresh. GIMME A FIREBALL (3) was a most impressive winner when resuming last time out over 1200m at Scottsville, putting 4.5 lengths on his nearest rival. Gets some weight relief this time. Should park just off the speed. Sure to be competitive. KUDIKARAN (2) ran below expectations when fresh from a spell at Turffontein Standside over 1160m last time, finishing sixth and beaten 7 lengths. Should be in the mix in this suitable race.

RECKLESS ABANDON (7) wasted no time getting off the mark on debut over 1200m at this track four weeks ago. Led throughout and had a bit on them. Promising type who can measure up again. LITTLE BOY BLUE (5) doesn't win out of turn but left a good impression last time out when beaten 0.9 lengths into third over 1200m at this track. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Among the leading chances. STATUS SYMBOL (1) was safely held when resuming from a spell behind Fish Tales in Group 2 grade at Greyville over 1200m, beaten 6 lengths into tenth. Far easier this time and fitter again. Gets chance to bounce back. BRIGITTE ANNE (4) was safely held when fifth last start over 1200m at this track, beaten 5 lengths after a good first-up win at this track. In the mix.
