THE BRENNAN FAMILY Maiden Plate (3yo & Up) 800m
The Solicitor and Royal Artist can be prominent. THE SOLICITOR (3) again failed to feature last start, finishing sixth and beaten 4.5 lengths over 1000m at Yeppoon. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Will give a great sight. ROYAL ARTIST (5) is a two-start maiden who returned last time and finished seventh at Emerald over 1000m, beaten 30 lengths. Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat. DUBIOUS BABE (4) stepped out for her debut over 800m at this track back on June 1 and finished ninth, beaten 7 lengths. Improver who can feature in the finish. TRICKETT'S JEWEL (6) finished fifth when resuming last start over 900m at Dingo. Fitter and can feature. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 3,5,4. |

MILNE BROS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 800m
Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 800m journey. I AM A WINNER (3) resumes from a spell of nine weeks and is having his first outing under new trainer Beau Gorman. Finished fourth at Kembla Grange over 1000m at the opening run last time in work. Plenty to like about his prospects. LUNAR EIGHT (1) is having her first run since winning by a head two weeks ago over 1000m at Springsure. Has transferred to the Raymond Williams stable over the break. One of the better hopes. MISSION RIDGE (8) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing fifth at Dingo over 900m. Placed to advantage so expect a better run. ZEDARI (2) has not raced since finishing eighth over 1000m at Coffs Harbour on April 24. First run for the new stable and should be primed for this. SUGGESTED PLAY: I Am A Winner to resume a winner. |

GORDON KRAFFT MEMORIAL Class 1 Plate (3yo & Up) 1200m
Craiglea Oreo and Ready To Rhyme possess good early speed. SUPER TALON (6) comes here off a break of ten months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1100m at Mackay. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with two minor placings from three tries. Expect him to play a major role. JOEY D'OR (4) finished out of the money when tenth over 1350m at Ipswich three-and-a-half weeks ago. Finds a more suitable contest and can turn things around. CLAW MACHINE (1) failed to feature when seventh over 1015m at Toowoomba a week ago. Ideally placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. STROMBOLI DELIGHT (8) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Bundaberg, finishing third and only 2.5 lengths from the winner at the end of 1380m. Well placed and should be about the money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Trifecta 6,4,1,8. |

THE HOWARD FAMILY NEWMARKET BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1200m
Fast tempo assured with Craiglea Merida, Replace The Ace and Cobbo going toe-to-toe. ELLIBABY (6) is racing well. Scored at Yeppoon two back then finished second, beaten a neck, over 1280m at Emerald at the latest appearance three-and-a-half weeks ago. Blinkers added in a positive sign from the stable. COBBO (5) started at $9 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth at Dingo over 900m. Meets some better types this time but a win is not out of the question. REPLACE THE ACE (10) returned from a spell three weeks ago when he was beaten 3 lengths into fifth over 1200m at Dingo. Fitter and sure to run well. CRAIGLEA MERIDA (11) was Well in the market last time and duly scored over 1200m at this track. Expected to go close again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ellibaby should go close. |

ERIC & VALL NOBBS THANGOOL CUP QTIS Class 3 Handicap 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by The Defender. THE DEFENDER (4) made it two wins on the bounce last start when he scored by 1.4 lengths over 1200m at Mackay. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. BITTER SPIRIT (2) was safely held last start when ninth over 1600m at Doomben. May appreciate the shorter journey this time. This is far easier. Leading contender. HOU LONG GWAI (3) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 3.5 lengths when fifth over 1560m at Mackay three-and-a-half weeks ago. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. THREE GONGS (5) was below his best last time, finishing tenth and beaten 45 lengths over 1608m at Gladstone. Likely improver with top-three prospects. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Defender to bring up the hat-trick. |
