MC POLYTRACK PLATE 1200m
Genuine tempo from Grey Ol' Day leading Snippets Return. BOY CRUSH (1) recorded a strong on-pace win here last time over 1000m. Great return after being tested in some nice races last prep and the advantage of a run this time in might give him the edge over SWIFT RULER (2). He's done little wrong, though, and can be expected to return in fine form. GREY OL' DAY (5) could be the big improver. Was well-beaten on debut, but was interesting to see there was market support at a price that day and she has won a trial ahead of the return. YAMANEX (7) is a maiden galloper resuming from a spell but will find this much easier than the G2 Karrakatta Plate at the latest appearance on April 18. SUGGESTED PLAY: Quinella 1,2. |

WA RACEHORSE OWNERS' ASSOCIATION HANDICAP 1650m
Strong tempo assured from Chantel and Bird's The Word leading the charge. OLAF THE SNOWMAN (8) was allowed to drift back from a low draw last time then found the line strongly to score a gutsy long neck win at this track over 1600m. This is a step up, but he's up to it. BIRD'S THE WORD (4) held on well to finish third last time out over 1400m at this track after leading for much of the way. Expected to be in this for a long way. CHANTEL (7) comes through the same race as Olaf The Snowman and was beaten less than half a length by him and she's been a regular among the placings this prep. MEMORY PARADE (1) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing fourth at this track over 1600m after being in contention on the turn, but is placed to advantage in this company and can feature in the finish. ALL GRUNT (3) hasn't made an impression lately despite market confidence. Last start could only manage eighth over 1600m at this track but might be worth one more chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Olaf The Snowman to win. |

CELEBRATING 40 YEAR RECORD HOLDER BRAVA MENTO HANDICAP 1400m
Genuine tempo with Exceltrain leading the way. PROSPECTOR'S PICK (6) was never in contention when 5 lengths from the winner in seventh over 1200m at this track last start, which followed a first-up sixth placing when not beaten far. Better for those runs, looks ready for this trip now and, importantly, draws the inside. EXCELTRAIN (2) looks close to a win, finishing in the placings at his last couple of runs including a third most recently over 1400m at this track when beaten 3/4 of a length. Has a solid record here at the distance with two wins and five placings from 10 tries and also draws well. SUPERNATURAL (7) has hit the frame in four of five runs this prep and generally has not been beaten very far. Only needs to hold his form to be a key player. ARCADIA KNIGHT (4) is a stayer resuming but boasts a good fresh record and has the services of Willie Pike. SUNNY HONEY (5) is yet to miss the frame in three starts over this course and distance and has placed in all five runs at 1400m. SUGGESTED PLAY: Prospector's Pick each-way. |

STEPS 4 EPILEPSY WA HANDICAP 1400m
Good pressure from the outset with Allentown, Shazair and Classic Impact taking up the running over Cosmic Waltz and Main Act. MAIN ACT (1) improved sharply on his fourth two starts back with success over 1300m at this track two weeks ago. Draw presents some potential issues, but expecting him to hold his form now that he's at peak fitness. STREAK OF GOD (7) is also drawn out, but Willie Pike has overcome that countless times here and he does look one of the more progressive types in the race. COSMIC WALTZ (8) might have forgotten how to win but it's still hard to be too critical given he hasn't missed a place in five runs this prep. ALLENTOWN (5) finished third at this track two runs back but was less effective last time over 1400m at this track, finishing 3.5 lengths back in sixth. Nicely placed to make amends. CLASSIC IMPACT (9) is hard to tip with confidence given the last two efforts, but she's drawn low here, which was the case in the good first-up run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Main Act to win. |

TABTOUCH - WESTSPEED PLATINUM SERIES HEAT 3 1400m
Off the low draw Our Rocky Bay should lead at a genuine tempo. I LOVE YA MONEY (6) strode forward early from his wide draw last start over 1400m at this track then fought on gamely to finish second. That was the fourth top-three finish from as many starts this time in and this is no tougher than the past couple, so he'll be thereabouts again. BOSUN (1) has scored at his last two starts, most recently by 3/4 of a length over 1300m at this track as favourite. That continued the very strong form this campaign, with two wins from three starts. Sure to go well again. JAZALOT (2) turned in an eye-catching run last start over 1400m at this track, winding up hard from well back on straightening to finish a close second. Jumps up in weight here, but that could be offset by the gun draw. GET OUT MICK (8) is struggling to break through, but he's been placed at five of his past seven starts and is a must for quaddies and exotics. RAZMAS (5) turned in one of his better first-up runs last start when fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths, so he could springboard off that. SUGGESTED PLAY: I Love Ya Money to win. |

VALE DREW BRIERTY HANDICAP 2200m
Expecting Phat Chaps to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SISTER MARY (5) was a winner over 2200m at this track last time out, dropping out early before coming home with a powerful run to score by a neck. Won't need to get as far back from gate two and can be strong again late. MISS VEUVE (1) is on the back-up after a nice win last Saturday when given a beautiful ride by Willie Pike. He sticks, which is a good lead. ETERNAL ROMANCE (8) was well-held by Sister Mary last time but gets in well here after the claim and can turn the tables with the right run. PHAT CHAPS (6) raced on the speed last start and battled on well but found one better over 1600m at this track. Rates highly on best figures and has the blinkers removed. Should be in the finish. STARWALKER (2) finished sixth in the race won by Miss Veuve last week, but did beat home Sister Mary two starts ago, so she only needs luck in running to play a role. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sister Mary to win. |

NICOPOLIS STAKES 1200m
Fast tempo assured with Kelvinater, Haida Gwaii and Snowdome going toe-to-toe. The big one of the day that brings together a handy field, several of whom have form around one another. RISSOLES (9) resumed last start over 1000m at this track and showed little early speed, settling well back but hitting the line hard to finish third, beaten just over a length by Haida Gwaii. She's twice won second-up in the past and gets Pike. SNOWDOME (1) showed good early speed then led into the straight last start before fighting on to finish second, beaten 1.5 lengths, in the Listed Idyllic Prince (1300m). He could give them something to catch. There was a lot to like about the way HAIDA GWAII (11) won last start and she has a wider draw to contend with this time but does have tactical speed. GINNIVAN (5) split Haida Gwaii and Rissoles last time out, which followed a nice win, and seems to love this track with six wins from 16 starts. Just needs luck from the draw. FAST FLICKER (10) is twice a winner second-up and looks advantaged by the draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rissoles to win. |

BISLEY WORKWEAR HANDICAP 1200m
Strong tempo with Swingman, Swansee and King Adviso leading the charge. HURRICANE HARLEY (7) has returned in great style, scoring first-up before finishing a long neck from the winner in third last time over 1200m at this track. Gains Willie Pike here, so it's hard to imagine him not playing a key role again. DIAMOND DANCER (13) came home strongly last start to finish second, beaten 3/4 of a length, over 1000m at this track when coming back from a break. Has a terrific record here with two wins and three minor placings from five starts. Among the leading chances. SIX SHOOTER (1) resumed over 1200m at this track last start and was too good for his rivals, scoring by a neck. Second-up record is strong and is among the better chances. SWINGMAN (4) finished third just seven days ago over 1000m at this track. On the quick back-up over more ground, which looks a good formula. FLASH DANCER (6) is racing in a rich vein of form with three wins from his past four and is capable of making an impression in this grade. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hurricane Harley to win. |
