NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:10 TAB We're On 1200m
In the small field Naval Academy or Jett Smash should find the front. Interesting little race to kick off Makybe Diva Stakes Day. RUSKA ROMA (7) resumes having last been seen winning the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes. Fairly long spell here and 1200m will be on the sharp side but she gets in light and looks a strong chance. JETT SMASH (6) resumes. He won three in a row to start last campaign before getting over a mile. Has plenty of ability and D Lane on from a low draw helps. MARKDEL (3) has been racing very well in similar races. The bar goes up now but he'll be hard to beat again. SPACE RIDER (1) seems to go best fresh before dropping off. He's good enough to win.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 7,6,3.
2 12:40 Michael Moroney 1400m
Judas Tree should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. Tricky little race. The unbeaten HARRY LIME (13) looks a bit of value coming down from NSW. He's won both starts to date in solid style, posting good time from the front to win a Class 1 at Kembla Grange last start. Respecting the Waterhouse & Bott yard, he'll be rock-hard fit and hard to run down. UNIT FIVE (3) caught the eye with a big finish first up in the McNeil Stakes behind American Eagle. That race didn't rate particularly highly but he was first up and should be suited to this trip now. DIAMETER (2) stuck on well first up in the G3 Up And Coming Stakes at Rosehill with the big weight. Gets in much better here and any extra ground will only help. BIG WIGS (4) was the best closer in the G3 Vain Stakes fresh and looked like a horse who would get over more ground this time in. SOMETHINGS BURNIN' (12) was a moral beaten at the midweeks last time, respecting although this is tougher.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Harry Lime each-way.
3 01:15 Cap D'Antibes Stakes 1100m
Gin Twist, I Am Aria and Scintillation to match motors but there will be other pressure. Great race for the fillies. The market hasn't exactly missed OVER EXCITED (14), a well-bred filly who ripped home in fast time on debut at Geelong, the sectionals there suggesting she was right up to stakes grade. She'll have to improve but profiles to do so and should be sweeping down the outside again. G1 Blue Diamond winner STREISAND (1) resumes. She hardly put a foot wrong in her 2yo season, very brave behind Guest House in the G1 Golden Slipper before an even effort in the Sires. Has the full penalty and bigger targets in the Spring but can win. SCINTILLATION (7) was game chasing Natural Fling last time who ran well in the G1 Moir against the older horses. She gets a nice run here and looks a big price. SATONO GLOW (2) resumes. She won very well here in the Autumn and looks a filly with some substance who will be charging home. I AM ARIA (10) boasts a 3rd to Streisand and did what she needed to do when winning the maiden fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Over Excited & Scintillation at the prices.
4 01:50 Schweppes Poseidon Stakes 1100m
Plenty of pressure from Hard Kick, Big Sky and Buggsy battling for the lead over Paradoxium. Good betting race for the boys with Sydneysider PARADOXIUM (1) resuming. He won his first two starts impressively, winning the G2 Todman nicely first up last campaign. Didn't fire thereafter but loved his latest trial and 1100m looks ideal. Very wary of MBUBE (6) who made a big impression winning on debut at Sandown Hillside, coming from well off the pace with a booming close to win well. Has been trialling very nicely and will be charging home under Zahra. BIG SKY (3) resumes. Unbeaten in two runs over 1000m, he was a one-time Blue Diamond favourite. He's jumped out well enough and has plenty of pace to get away with this. STEEL WILL (5) has been very good winning two runs in Sydney this time in. Back in trip but looks up to this. HARD KICK (2) won the G3 Vain last time but the form out of that race has been awful, just want to see him do it again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Paradoxium & Mbube.
5 02:30 Lexus Archer Stakes 2500m
A solid tempo on the cards with Nearco Frod leading the way. A Melbourne Cup ticket is on the line here but found it very hard to split NEARCO FROD (3) and LITZDEEL (2) who head the betting. Sided with Nearco Frod who is just a winning machine, scoring in his past four by racing on speed and showing a nice turn of foot. It's simple stuff but it wins races, especially in these staying contests where they tend to go quite slowly. LITZDEEL has been very good in two runs back over shorter and looks primed third up. Does have to rise in the weights and give male counterparts a few kilos but will stay strongly and try to apply the pressure on the danger. JENNIVAMOOSE (4) and SHOCKLETZ (6) were both very good closers in a 2000m race at Caulfield last time, both are suited to this trip now and there's little between them but Jenni's run was slightly better last time. THINK GIANT (9) has been okay his past couple without threatening, better ground and a quicker tempo could suit.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Nearco Frod.
6 03:05 De Bortoli Tontonan Stakes 1400m
Solid tempo with Sass Appeal, Lim's Saltoro and Run Harry Run going hard, closely attended by Fancify. Good betting race and SASS APPEAL (8) will divide a few punters. She got away with one here first up when leading at a ridiculously slow tempo then saw soft ground for the first time and had to chase a leader and, compared to her $2.15 SP, was a bit underwhelming. Happy to back that support in here, back to Flemington on fast ground and with the added fitness. CAFE MILLENIUM (1) got back and did little in the same race first up at Caulfield but nothing made ground there. His Flemington 1400m form is outstanding, Zahra goes on and he'll be charging home. FANCIFY (7) won the key form lead in, ridden to her strengths there by Jamie Melham who led and ran along. Much shorter this time but her best win did come over this route. She can give a sight again. JUST PARTY (10) won the Goulburn Cup fresh and can measure up from the consistent RUN HARRY RUN (4) who is an each-way hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sass Appeal & Cafe Millenium.
7 03:40 HKJC World Pool Bobbie Lewis Quality 1200m
They look to roll along early with Arkansaw Kid and Hedged leading the charge. Keen to see progressive sprinter OLIVEANOTHERDAY (5) step out again. He was awesome winning the G3 The Heath at Caulfield first up, having to wait for a run but exploding once clear, the 1.5 length margin underselling the win. Beat Bridal Waltz & War Machine there and if anything this looks a shade easier. Provided he handles the straight he'll likely be winning again. LOSESOMEWINMORE (13) charged home last start in the G3 Carlyon over 1000m which isn't his go. The straight 1200m is his best trip and he drops right down in the weights - should take holding out. KING OF ROSEAU (4) resumes. He was a good winner fresh last time in and boasts a strong win over this route in similar company. Only off a short break and should go well. HEDGED (3) found 1000m too sharp fresh but is a G1 placegetter and gets in well for Shinn at a big price. ROYAL INSIGNIA (15) is going well and will be running on down the outside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: 5,13 exacta.
8 04:20 Crown Makybe Diva Stakes 1600m
Keen tempo with Treasurethe Moment and Light Infantry Man prominent. On to our feature race where star mare SHEZA ALIBI (12) will take all the beating. The stable pitched her up to Sydney first up to take on Autumn Glow and that mare was just a bit too professional but she stormed home for a clear second in a high-rating race. Her Doncaster win in the Autumn was that of a champion and 1600m on the big track here from a middle draw should see her explode. SIR DELIUS (4) resumes. His two fresh runs at this trip have been very good. He'll be peaking later over further but is too good to ignore and he's been trialling very well. MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) is aiming for a historic four-peat in this race. Led at a crawl to win it last year but still did so and he was game as ever fresh in the Memsie off a long spell. Maps ideally and will probably hit the front at some point. TREASURETHE MOMENT (10) had the right run in the Memsie but ran well and has claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sheza Alibi to win.
9 04:55 Asahi Super Dry Let's Elope Stakes 1400m
Genuine pace with Sea What I See finding the front from her low draw. GOLD COAST BELLE (4) is a progressive mare who resumed with a very sharp win, sitting close to a moderate tempo but sprinting right away from Tennessee Bound who has since run well in G3 company. She goes from a BM88 to a G2 here but in reality the jump isn't that high and plenty of mares have done that in recent years. Rolls forward and should continue to progress. COEUR VOLANTE (5) has been up a long time but is continuing to race well. This is a fair bit easier than the G2 PB Lawrence last time, her form prior with big weights was rock solid. SALTY PEARL (1) got home very well first up at Caulfield over 1200m in a lovely return. Up in trip suits, she does have to give away weight as a 4yo mare and probably gets back but look for her late. ON DISPLAY (8) didn't really fire last campaign but is better than that and sets up well for Lane.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Gold Coast Belle to win.
10 05:25 Ronald McDonald House Vic/Tas Trophy 1700m
Genuine tempo from Future History leading Ambassadorial. Tricky finish. STORM LEOPARD (13) will need a good ride but put the writing on the wall first up with a nice return over 1400m at Caulfield, getting home strongly for fifth. That was always going to be too sharp so the step to 1700m is ideal with 54kg, if Williams can be positive early and slot in somewhere from the wide gate he'll go close. JUSTADEEL (9) was well backed second up at Sandown Hillside over 1500m in a strange race on heavy ground. He did keep coming on the line despite being well beaten and third up to 1700m from a lovely draw should suit nicely now. FUTURE HISTORY (1) resumes, big weight but only off 11 weeks and he's good enough. Could be the blowout up on speed. SUNTORA (8) worth including at odds.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Storm Leopard on top.
