MRS MAC'S PLATE 1200m
Anticipate a moderate tempo is a race devoid of recognised speedsters. The new racing season begins with the now 3YO's and RADIANT LIGHT (2) goes on top following a strong effort here last week. He closed off nicely behind a very smart type, beaten 1.4L. While back in trip today, his fresh run over 1200m was very solid and he wouldn't have to do much different to be going one better this time. SPLIT THE GEE (1) was an impressive winner on debut before a 1.4L defeat ended her campaign. She'll be fitter for a recent trial coming in, though she does go to 12000m first up which is a question. Needs some luck from the deep but has class. HUBBLE'S DRAGON (5) was just fair in the heavy going on debut and looks as though the rise in trip should suit. Pike hops aboard now and the form out of his debut has been very strong. Can be in the finish. CAPE LEEUWIN (3) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back. QUEEN CARTEL (8) did enough on debut to suggest she can run a race here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Radiant Light on top. |

TABTOUCH - WESTSPEED PLATINUM HANDICAP 1200m
Moderate tempo with Repeater leading the way. CRUISE TO VICTORY (2) bumped into what looks a smart one last start at Bunbury who has since won again. He was 2.6L off the winner there, but he's at peak fitness now and he's never missed the placings third-up. Draws ideally and looks poised to strike. HISTORY WON'T CARE (5) finished behind Cruise To Victory last time out when flying home from the back of the pack. He may be able to take closer order this time from a good gate and the blinkers go back on today. CJP remains in the saddle and he can strike now. KIRALUI (7) was very good first-up from the back, closing off in eye-catching fashion to be beaten 1L. She can dip second-up which is the niggle, though Faithfull has a good record riding for Team Pearce and the good gate should see her get every chance. REPEATER (3) has been too good this campaign and while this is tougher, he has the figures to take it up to his rivals. BONDI PLUNGE (4) disappointed last start 77 days ago but looks well placed to bounce back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cruise To Victory gets the nod. |

WITTENS IRRIGATION & DESIGN HANDICAP 1200m
Sizzling pace from Gi Gi Pops, Frappuccino and Real Deluxe locking horns ahead of Countess Of Kenna and Becalotti. TERRATIF (3) was given a perfect steer last start and got the job done in tricky conditions at Bunbury, winning by 0.7L. The form has already worked out well and Pike remains in the saddle. Ticks plenty of boxes today and there's no reason why she can't bring up back-to-back wins. GI GI POPS (6) was progressing nicely last campaign and wasn't disgraced in the 1000 Guineas. She's trialled nicely coming into this campaign and the blinkers go back on for her return. Can roll forward and prove tough to catch. SUNSHINE TAFE (9) is another on resumption today, scoring by 0.5L to end last campaign. Chris Parnham hops in the saddle in a good push for her chances and with a cosy run on the map expected, she can feature in the finish. PADDY'S FLYIN' (5) wasn't beaten far at Bunbury last start and is not to be discounted. SPECTACULAR PARK (8) wasn't far away here last week and is expected to be thereabouts once again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Terratif to repeat the dose. |

JOCKEY CELEBRATION DAY STAKES 1400m
Strong tempo assured with Lord Gannicus and Multinational leading the way over Investmentstrategy. INVESTMENTSTRATEGY (5) resumes today on the back of a nice trial win last month. He's never really fired first-up, but this looks a very suitable race on resumption as gets in at the bottom of the handicap. The draw should see him close to the speed and if he's up to the mark fresh, he'll take beating. VAST ART (1) was very good first-up in the H.G. Bolton when finishing off powerfully over 1200m. Up in trip is a big tick for him and he's placed 3/5 second-up. Laid the foundations last start and can go one better this time around. MULTINATIONAL (3) just missed two back before getting the job done in heavy going at Pinjarra last start. That was over the mile, though he's now 42 days between runs and he maps to find the front. Can give a bold sight. SENSESSIONAL (4) tends to go well fresh and the soggy conditions won't hurt. Can feature with Pike on. LORD GANNICUS (9) surprised last start but turned in a strong figure and can feature again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Investment Strategy gets the nod. |

MCA POLYTRACK HANDICAP 1400m
Pace strong with Exceltrain and Kelvinater leading with Little Silver nearby. ON PATROL (9) just missed in a photo finish last start at Bunbury when flying home from last. His racing pattern is the niggle with him and he's drawn out again, though Parnham remains in the saddle and he boasts a strong third-up record. Can go one better this time around. LITTLE SILVER (6) was too good at Bunbury a fortnight ago when winning by 1L over this trip. He's won 2/5 third-up in the past and Faithfull was able to negate the wide draw last time out. Fitter again now and looks the main danger. KELVINATER (3) disappointed last start when back to 1200m here last week but had been in good form prior to that. Back out in trip may hold the key this time and a return to form is on the cards. PETROUCHKA (4) has been rarely sighted since her 3YO season, but that form still lingers in the background. She trialled nicely coming in and she has the class to feature in the finish. EXCELTRAIN (1) can give a bold sight with the 3kg claim up front. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with On Patrol to win. |

UNITE RESOURCING HANDICAP 2200m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Fioreyes, Snazzler and Gratias Deo to control the tempo. COSMIC CHAOS (4) settled closer last start as he rose in trip and wasn't beaten far, finishing just 1.7L off the winner. He should be fitter again for that effort however and the barrier will see him settle in a similar position. Looks poised to strike now. SNAZZLER (2) beat home a few of these, including Cosmic Chaos last start with a sustained run from the back at Bunbury. The wide draw is likely to see him well back in the run again for Watson, but he showed he can stay strongly last start and it wouldn't surprise to see him repeat the dose. ROYAL TROOPER (12) comes through the Belmont Classic where he was only 4.4L off the winner. That effort rates highly in this field and he has shown some tactical speed in recent efforts. He's right in the mix. DARK LOOKS (8) can put his best foot forward from an inside barrier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cosmic Chaos can turn the tables. |

CONGRATULATIONS WILLIAM PIKE - LEADING JOCKEY 24/25 HANDICAP 1200m
Miss Flirtacious and Sonoftheboss have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. SHMOOV MOOVA (11) is still a progressive gelding who ended last campaign in impressive fashion. His recent trial suggests he's right up to the mark and Pike hops on board for his resuming effort. Draw is sticky, but he's a classy type and he can pick up where he left off. WUBIN GOLD (3) was very impressive last start at Bunbury when flying home to win in Heavy conditions. Although she is also likely to be back in the pack, she's known to run fast splits late in the race and on her current form, she looks the main danger. PETULA (2) resumes today after tackling The Joey at the end of last campaign. She has fired first-up in the past however and with the claim of Cooper on her back, she can put her best foot forward. SUPERSESSION (5) is better than he showed last start at Bunbury and can bounce back. SONOFTHEBOSS (8) is never far away, particularly first-up and he's worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Shmoov Moova looks the one to beat. |

CONGRATULATIONS LUKE CAMPBELL - LEADING APPRENTICE 24/25 HANDICAP 1600m
Solid tempo with Showlas going forward from the good gate. UNCLE GERARD (6) finished 1L off the winner last start at Bunbury when flashing home late in the race as favourite. He'll need a touch of luck from the gate with his racing pattern, however he's raving in top order and a win looks just around the corner. SHOWLAS (8) led them up on the main track here last start in a CL5 and was only gunned down late in the race. The inside barrier can see her on the speed and she'll prove tough to run down. CANNY JACK (9) has just missed his past couple when flying home late in the race. He may be able to position himself closer from the barrier today and with some luck, he'll go close. GAGE ROADS (4) is knocking on the door of another victory, racing in good order recently. Winkers go back on now and he won't be far away. MYSTICAL MAN (7) trialled well coming in and while he's expected to be better over further, he can run a cheeky race on resumption. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Uncle Gerard in the finale. |
