A solid tempo is on the cards with Miss Kanimbla and Silver Snow pushing for the lead ahead of Two Cubed and Cowboykickedfive. Nice race to kick off proceedings with several progressive types who have run well in a limited number of starts. None more so than RACETOTHEBOTTOM (5) who has filled a placing at his only two outings. Was beaten over 5 lengths on debut, but cut that margin to less than half-a-length last time on a track that didn't really suit. Will be much more at home on the spacious surrounds of Hamilton and has drawn to settle a little closer. SILVER SNOW (6) will start from the inside alley and turned in an improved effort last start, so reluctant to dismiss. TWO CUBED (11) as had a few chances but has placed in several and needs to be respected. PARCHMENT (9) has been given plenty of time since her debut campaign and can return on a good note.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Racetothebottom to win
2 01:06 Jockey Celebration Day Maiden Plate 1600m
It's likely to be tactical given scant early speed. Like most of the Price Bloodstock horses, TEE EIGHT (4) was given a solid grounding with a number of jumpouts and trials before the first start and looks ready to peak after two adequate runs to start the career. Will be better for the experience at 1600m and has drawn ideally in gate one. HABITEIN (2) was comfortably-held last time out, but went close on debut and those two efforts have been hinted at 1600m being more to his liking. UNPLANNED REVOLT (5) is the lone first-starter in the field and Shane Jackson looks to have found a winnable debut option off the back of a recent jumpout win, especially from what looks a great draw in three. ISOTROPIC (6) didn't get warm last start, but dropped back to 1400m and will be better for that outing back up to a mile. Significantly, she's also run well here before. MORISU OJO (11) is from one of the country's top stables, so might improve up in trip.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Tee Eight to win.
3 01:41 Sheepvention See Ewe There Maiden Plate 2200m
Reasonable tempo with Thurmond probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. THURMOND (7) is an import from a stable who has a great knack with stayers and the good first-up run suggests he has finally acclimatised to Australia. He was only narrowly beaten that day and looks well suited up an extra 200m and Linda Meech hopping on certainly is not a negative. FUWARI (9) will be a tough nut to crack, though, and has the benefit of an extra run this time in. She was a notable improver jumping sharply in trip last time in a maiden that had more depth than this. They look the two key players. IRLANDAIS (5) has found one better at his past three and while this is tougher he has the draw to be prominent. Conversely, OCEAN SYMPHONY (6) has drawn out but should be nearing peak fitness especially after a couple of runs at 2000m.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pretty keen than Thurmond and Fuwari run the quinella.
4 02:16 Creek Electrical 0-58 Handicap 2200m
Bergasun is likely to roll to the lead and set a decent tempo. Shane Jackson is a trainer doing great things early in his career, especially with stayers, and BERGASUN (3) looks one who has more upside than his rivals here. Broke his maiden over this distance and the four runs since, which have included a couple of second placings, have been adequate for a race of this nature. Looks awkwardly drawn but has gone forward from wide gates in the past, so should be prominent again. KEEVS (6) is an out-and-out stayer who showed promise early in his career and while he hasn't yet risen to the heights some thought, he resumed with a great first-up second over 1600m. He'll relish the rise to 2200m. PROSHOW (2) disappointed last start after a nice maiden win but stayed at 1600m and is ready for a step up in trip. Similarly, USK VALLEY (7) was down the track after a maiden win but looks better suited here. TOSEN GLORY (11) can pull out the odd good run, like two starts back, and is drawn well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bergasun to win.
5 02:51 Finchetts Plumbing 0-58 Handicap 1100m
Solid tempo with Universal Rock leading from A Good Yarn and Silky Smooth. Looks a tricky race on paper. SHANGHAI VENTURE (9) has been well held at two runs back but drops back from 0-64 grade here and Meech going on is a big plus. Only had the one run in Heavy going so that is the question, but her figures are good enough if she handles the conditions. HIDDEN COMFORT (5) has 3 placings from as many starts this time in and doesn't need to improve much to go a couple of spots better, even if the wide draw looks tricky. A GOOD YARN (3) is a popular veteran past his best but can run a cheeky race on speed and will be in the firing line for a while with a clean break. BRAZEN BRANDO (4) relished a class drop last start and strikes the most winnable race of the preparation.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Shanghai Venture.
6 03:30 South West Equine Veterinary Services 0-58 Handicap 1100m
The Wizard King to take charge ahead of Hughie at a good tempo. IMMINANCE (7) showed a lot of promise early in her career and lost his way a touch after breaking the maiden but returned to form in a big way last start. Seemed to relish the Soft 7 surface and with the prospect of similar, or even worse, conditions here there's no reason she can't go on with it. THE WIZARD KING (2) is a regular in this grade and has an on-pace racing style that generally affords him his chance and this is easier than a number of his recent assignments. DARCEANDERMILL (3) got back into the winner's stall last start, albeit in BM52 grade, but should derive confidence from that and can feature again. SURFY PETE (4) is a hard horse to follow, but might be up for an improved showing after disappointing last start and will appreciate the 2kg claim for Sarah Field. HUGHIE (1) is the highest-rated horse in the race and drops back from 64 grade, which could spark an improved performance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Imminance each way.
7 04:06 Nicole Evans is Amazing 0-58 Handicap 1400m
Genuine tempo with Ruada leading the way. VILLAINESQUE (11) is a regular in this grade and he is rarely far away despite struggling to hit the bullseye. He's drawn well and gets a claim here, so he wouldn't need a whole lot to go his way to secure that elusive third career win. DIBALTA (1) returned with a maiden win and while this is tougher he does look to have more scope for improvement than most of his rivals. Importantly, that win came on Heavy going and with improvement expected now second-up into the campaign, he can play a major role. GOLDEN MIKKI (5) was terrible last start, but great the start prior when a winner so probably needs to given another chance. SOTOMAYOR (8) could also improve from a good draw.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Villainesque to win.
8 04:41 bet365 Top Finishes 0-58 Handicap 1600m
Reasonable tempo with Cable De Vega probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. CABLE DE VEGA (5) looks out of form at face value, but the two starts this time in have been in tougher races than this. Drawn beautifully and also gets a claim so could be the improver at odds. SAXON BEAUTY (6) showed the benefit of two runs back with a good win last time and this doesn't look a great deal tougher. Chances enhanced on a Heavy track. UNIVERSALLY (3) is first-up for a new stable but has trialled well and gets the inside alley with Meech to ride, which looks a big plus. LICHESTER (8) needs to improve on the first-up effort but has trialled since and will appreciate the step up in distance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Cable De Vega.
