Silk Laser Clinics Mile 1600m
Many of these have the speed to be prominent so a genuine tempo is anticipated. HENNESSY LAD (1) failed to fire at his local debut for the Gary Clarke stable and probably needed the run. He showed talent earlier in his career when trained in Victoria, and he gets a favourable swing in his draw this time. He is down in class, and a form reversal is likely. EQUAL BALANCE (3) did not get into the race here last week and is reunited with senior hoop Jade Hampson. He slides down in class and can bounce straight back into the money. Each-way. FIERCE LEGEND (7) has struggled to win another race, and his best run this prep was at his penultimate start when finishing second by a head. A repeat of that run would see him in the finish. THE MEN WENT HOME (4) got back a fair way off a wide gate over 2050m here a fortnight ago and ran on over the concluding stages. He has a better draw and can settle closer to the pace this time. Stick with him in an even field. THE FINAL WORD (5) has improved with racing and followed up a win with a last third here a week ago. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hennessy Lad to show some worthwhile form. Each-way. |

Administrator's Cup 1300m
Solid tempo with The Albion to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. KESSLER (1) has led all the way to win his last couple of starts, and this tactic seems to have done the trick. He had 3 lengths to spare over his rivals last time out, and an extra 3kg in a lesser class, should not be enough to stop him from completing the hat-trick. RISING FIRE (2) may not win often, but he is seldom far away from the top 3 and was runner-up here by a length last week. He cops a tougher draw this time, but another honest effort is on the cards. BEATIFICATION (8) only battled after having a tough trip here 7 days ago, and he is expected to bounce straight back into the money from a superior gate this time. FRANKFURT (3) has been out of the money over a mile in his last couple of starts and will be suited by dropping back to 1300m. Don't risk him. Each way value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kessler is on target for a hat-trick of wins. |

Silks Darwin Maiden Plate 1200m
Reasonable tempo with Cassette probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. VILLA ROYALE (11) was placed in 11 of his 17 starts in Victoria and resumes from a spell that would have done her the world of good. She comes to hand quickly, and the leading Gary Clarke stable normally gets quick results with similar imports. GO BARNEY GO (2) got back from a wide gate here 5 weeks ago and never got warm. He cops another tough draw, but with the right run, he is good enough to figure in the top 3. JUELENE (7) was fifth as favourite in her first local start. She will naturally improve second up, and is worth including in all combinations, so follow your money. CEE PEE ONE (1) resumed from a spell and finished third here last week. That was his first run since returning from Hong Kong, and with the blinkers on, he will be hard to hold out. SUGGESTED PLAY: A very even field with many chances. Cee Pee One can be a quick improver. Each way. |

Victoria Village Katherine Handicap 1200m
Slick tempo with American Jazz to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. AMERICAN JAZZ (5) had to work hard to find the front here 3 weeks ago and weakened in the run home. He also lost one of his shoes that day, which would have also done him no favours. He is unbeaten in 2 starts here over the shorter trip of 1200m, and from a slightly superior gate, he can bounce straight back into the money. On top. MR MARRAKECH (6) has come of age since joining the Gary Clarke stable and will be chasing a hat-trick of wins after leading all the way to win here 17 days ago by well over 3 lengths. He takes another step up in class, but carries the same weight, and will go close to getting the job done again. HELL FIRE MISS (8) won here by a nose over 1300m last start in BM70 company and slides down in class here. She is up 2kg in weight, but that should not prevent her from figuring in the top 3 here as well. AICHI ICON (1) did not do much in a couple of starts for new trainer Neil Dyer at Alice Springs but is much better than that. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: American Jazz can get back into the winner's circle here. |

bet365 TROBIS Handicap 1100m
Fast tempo assured with Buckleup Buddy, Dynamic Theory and Buades going toe-to-toe. DYNAMIC THEORY (5) won his maiden here in his penultimate start, and then just battled in a tougher grade last week, finishing sixth. He is much better placed at this level, and with the blinkers on for the first time, he can make amends. On top. PREDICTING (6) needed his first local start before showing his true worth and scoring by well over a length here 7 days ago. He has the scope to continue to improve, and there is no reason why he can't repeat the dose. BUADES (3) will be peaking third up since shifting from Victoria earlier in the year. He drops 2kg from his last run and is ready to put his best hoof forward here. Include in all multiples. BUCKLEUP BUDDY (4) had run his race before entering the stalls fresh up and will strip fitter here. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: An even field and Predicting should go right on with it now. Each way. |

Cleanaway Handicap 1000m
Small field but expecting a genuine tempo with plenty of pace engaged. LITTLE DITTY (3) had a genuine excuse for finishing out of the money for the first time on this course last time out after losing a shoe during the running of that race and injuring the base of his hoof. He has been given plenty of time to recover and has won his only other 2 starts on this track. Stick with him. PATRIOTIC KING (5) has been building his fitness levels up with 3 modest runs back from a spell. He has a good draw and is worth one more chance. BLACK ZOUS (1) fought on gamely for fourth here last week and has the benefit of a 3kg claim this time. A good draw will also help him, and he is worth some each-way consideration. HELLIVIT (2) has yet to fire on this track and seems to reserve his best form for his home track at Alice Springs. There are a few things in his favour here, and he could well be one to consider to spice up any multiple wagers. HEY LITTLE SISTER (6) is proving to be hard to catch, and her last win was 3 starts back at big odds. Don't drop her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Little Ditty had an excuse last start and could be the one to side with in an even contest. |

bet365 Palmerston Sprint 1200m
Pace genuine with Pharoah Magic and Flying Annie pressing hard closely followed by Rising Sphere and Zourata. BOLDINHO (3) had been out of form earlier in the year and was moved on to the Gary Clarke stable. The change of scenery, as so often happens, helped this gelding rediscover some winning form again, when he scored by a short head fresh up 3 weeks ago. He cops a wide gate, but drops 7kg, which makes him the one to beat again. ZOURATA (7) is part of the Peter Robl stable, which has been feasting on winners during this carnival. He led all the way to score by well over 3 lengths here 17 days ago, and if he can find the front from a poor gate, then he will take plenty of pegging back again. HELLO WORLD (11) has the blinkers back on after a last-start third in only his second start in the area, winning his local debut before that. Stick with him. BON'S PRIDE (5) returned to winning form at the right time when scoring by half a length here a fortnight ago. He drops 5kg and can repeat the dose. LUMBER PUNK (6) is not to be ruled out of a top 3 finish after drawing in the pole position. SUGGESTED PLAY: A top field with many chances, and we like Boldinho at a good each-way price. |
