Good early pressure anticipated with a large contingent of first starters. The three-year-old maidens kick us off. ELRONTE (6) just ran into one better when facing the starter for the first time and will have derived a stack of benefit from that day at the races. Looks to have some ability and is sure to be right there when the whips are cracking. SONIC FLYER (10) is on debut but draws low and gets the services of Bayliss in the stirrups. Must be included in a race decimated by scratchings. NASIRON (12) strips fitter second-up from the spell and expect to see plenty of improvement. Top-three candidate. CODE BUSTER (13) next in line but just needs some luck from the outside draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Elronte to shed the maiden tag. |

A strong tempo is assured with the first starters applying pressure to the noted on-pacers Jimmyinthejungle and Diamantina Rose. Tricky race to assess with a few of these facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade, JIMMYINTHEJUNGLE (1) looked good finishing runner-up on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Revved up for this with a recent trial victory and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Rates the testing material. CHARLOTTE'S HERE (3) placed in both outings in her first campaign and gets plenty of weight relief with the 4kg claim. Looms as the main danger while fresh. DIAMANTINA ROSE (4) has placed two from two over this distance range and Yoshida sticks in the irons. Top-three credentials. CONCLUDED (9) is on debut but has shown ability at the trials and any market support must be noted. DEMES GIRL (12) next best from the low draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jimmyinthejungle to return a winner. |

Master Ned to take charge ahead of Southampton Nicco at a strong tempo. Former Victorian GROOVE JET (8) is consistent without winning, hitting the top-five in all nine starts to date and will have come on with that first-up local run now under the belt. Gets in well at the weights with the claim and maps favourably from the inside marble. Looks the one they all have to run down. ONATARE (10) is another that has been right there in recent efforts and will be rock-hard fit for this. Worth serious consideration. DARE I SAY (7) has had a few chances but is usually thereabouts and may run a race while fresh. MASTER NED (5) just missed the placings here at the latest outing and can feature with natural improvement. BETTA THAN PRESLEY (1) next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Groove Jet to break through. |

Elusive Eagle should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. LIGHT OF BOOM (3) resumes here but has won when fresh before and gets a stack of weight off with the 4kg claim. Plenty of key scratchings in this contest and can return a winner. BIOGRAPHER (6) only narrowly went down at the latest effort and strips fitter third-up from the spell. Should be right there at the business end. PANTELONE (2) is another to get some weight off and may make his presence felt with luck in running. Top-three candidate. ISLAND MAGIC (9) will be better for that first-up effort and can earn a cheque with Cartwright on board. LJUNGBERG (10) next best from the inside alley. Has to be included in calculations. SUPRENDRE (12) has won two of her past three and it's hard to knock mares in form. Shouldn't be underestimated from the low draw. CHEERFUL CAT (13) has placed one from one over this course and distance and maps favourably from gate three. Right in this contest. HAYSIRI (2) will be at peak fitness now and may earn a cheque. Strong tempo with Mishani Gangster, Yeah Copy and Amenophis going forward ahead of Prince Of Diamonds and Kind Wish. YEAH COPY (18) resumes here but has placed five of six over this course and distance and is a winner when fresh before. Has performed on all going and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. FREELAND (15) hasn't been too far away in all three runs this campaign and will be ready to peak now. Gets in light in the weights and has the class to take this out. MR WANDJI (4) is a three-time winner over this seven-furlong journey and is more than capable enough on his day. Sure to run well third-up from the break. AMENOPHIS (8) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Yeah Copy. |

Looks the galloper in this field with the most upside and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Will be right there when the judge calls a halt. RAFALE JOLIE (8) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and is a must for the multiples. HEADLINE LEGEND (9) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be discounted. Former Victorian XUANFENG (18) is having his first run for the new stable but gets in well at the weights with the claim and can run a race while fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ready And Mabel to bounce back. |
