NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:20 COFFS ASPHALT BENCHMARK 74 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1000m
Plenty of pace likely from Change The Date, Zoom Outcome and Star Ambition battling for the lead from Markwell Dreamer. LADY TULESSA (6) has improved at each appearance this prep, the latest offering an eye-catching fourth in the James Kirby Quality over this distance at Grafton. A real swimmer who isn't badly in after the claim and gets the run of the race from a nice draw. STAR AMBITION (7) started favourite when fresh from a spell over this trip at Grafton last start and got the job done in a Class 1. Meets a deeper field this time but he is a lightly raced rising four-year-old with great scope for improvement. BEER BARON (11) has been getting back in his races and finding it hard to get involved. Has a decent record at today's journey and with Cahill's claim he gets in very well. Can turn things around. ZOOM OUTCOME (4) made it three wins from his last five outings when he scored over this trip on a heavy track at Taree a month ago. Goes best with the runs spaced. In the mix again. BUCK PHAROAH (3) relishes wet conditions so keep him in mind.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Lady Tulessa each-way.
2 12:55 ROB YOUNG COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN SHOWCASE PLATE 1400m
Expecting Squatternut Bosh to lead Ol' Mate Coop at just a moderate tempo. IMPENDING FORTUNE (2) has progressed nicely in his three runs to date, the latest appearance just ten days ago when he closed hard to finish a close second over 1300m at Moree. Draws in close and out to 1400m looks the ideal scenario. SQUATTERNUT BOSH (9) last raced over a month ago when she tired late in a 1250m Taree maiden. Might need this sort of trip now so a small investment at cricket score odds may be worthwhile. PIEDI VELOCI (3) tackled today's journey for the first time last start when he worked home well to get up for fourth at Grafton. Should race closer this time from the inside alley and is a definite contender. FINDING ELLE (6) has had plenty of chances but has placed three from four at 1400m which means she must go in the exotics. OL' MATE COOP (13) doesn't know how to run a bad race and looks sure to be in the finish yet again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Impending Fortune.
3 01:35 DRISCOLL'S AUSTRALIA KEN HOWARD SHOWCASE CUP 2000m
Theres nothing to run them along. TWIGMAN (4) started favourite in a midweek race at Eagle Farm last start where he did his best work late to get up for fourth at the end of 1845m. Yet to miss the frame in three runs over today's journey and he loves the wet so there is plenty to like about his prospects. BARAZIN (1) hasn't fired in two runs this time in work, both at or around the mile on dry tracks. Prefers the sting out of the ground and this is a preferable distance so watch for sharp improvement. SHERRIFF CODY (6) is now more than a year without a win but recent efforts have been encouraging. Returned a strong figure when third in a Class 6 over 2200m at Grafton most recently. Good enough to trouble this field. CENOTES (7) has had a disappointing campaign but he gets down in the weights today and might be worth one more chance. INDIFFERENCE (2) has been plain of late but getting to this trip for the first time might be what he needs.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Twigman to win.
4 02:10 PIER HOTEL SUPER MAIDEN SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1000m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. BARRON (18) lines up for the 34th time today. Registered his 15th minor placing last start when he chimed in late over this distance at Grafton. Gets in very well under today's weight scale. Equally at home on wet or dry surfaces - today might be his day. MRS GOLDBERG (13) is a debutant from the Matthew Dunn stable. By Yes Yes Yes from a High Chaparral mare who has produced seven winners. Recent Deagon trial winner who looks to have his share of ability. MISS GRAYSEA (9) is back from a five-month spell. Best effort last prep was an eye-catching second in soft going over this course and distance. Nicely placed to return in a positive way. JASIRA (10) lined up for just the second time and was six months between runs when a pleasing second in heavy going at Muswellbrook on Monday. Big chance if they opt for the quick back-up. Matthew Hoysted's first starter HEAD OF THE RIVER (12) has shown enough at the trials to suggest a bright opening is on the cards.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Barron each-way.
5 02:45 CETNAJ COUNTRY MAGIC MERV MERCER SHOWCASE MILE - CLASS 2 HCP 1600m
Off the low draw Yalla should lead at a genuine tempo. Freewheeling mare YALLA (4) led for the judge last start in a Class 4 over 1800m at the Gold Coast but was overwhelmed late in the piece. Big drop in grade today and the mile looks a better fit. Will prove very tough to catch. SECRET KEEPER (14) improved significantly last time out when second-up from a break, racing on the speed then battling on well for a close fourth over 1725m at Grafton. Should be cherry ripe now, with a deteriorating surface the only query. POINT OUT (2) hasn't been far away at his last couple, both over this distance in BM66 contests. Good each-way hope in a similar assignment this afternoon. TWO AYE (7) is a long way from home. Handy mare on her day and she looks well in with 55kgs. DUPONT (11) has been about the mark of late and although up in class looks a decent chance at the weights.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be with Yalla.
6 03:20 FM GLENN CONSTRUCTIONS DANIEL BAKER SHOWCASE SPRINT 1200m
Slippin' Jimmy should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. SAMMY CONQUERS ALL (9) has been airborne since a recent eight-week let-up. Won a Class 3 here at this trip at the first run following that break then got the job done in gritty fashion at the Kensington track last start. Loves racing here on home soil and looks the one to beat again. OAKFIELD DUKE (4) disappointed at Canterbury last time after placing in town the run prior. Seven-time winner on rain-affected ground so he can never be written off in these conditions. SLIPPIN' JIMMY (5) was edged out at his latest appearance in a quality sprint over 1300m at Mackay. A real swimmer who also has a three from three record at this distance. Hard to fault his credentials. BRING ME KASH (6) found 1000m at Grafton a bit sharp when resuming recently. Finds a more suitable assignment this time so keep him in mind. The consistent TWO YA GOT (3) gets everything to suit today and is a must for exotics punters.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sammy Conquers All to chalk up the hat-trick.
7 03:55 MOONEE BEACH HOTEL *BIG DANCE ELIGIBILITY * COFFS HARBOUR CUP 1600m
Ronny Rock Art should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. IT'S A KNOCKOUT (7) smashed the handy Oh Diamond Lil first-up at Randwick then stayed at 1400m last start when the in-form Getafix was a bit too good. Needs the mile now and she thrives in wet going so she looks a huge chance to book her ticket to the Big Dance. THE THREE HUNDRED (4) went to the front in a change of tactics and was far too good in the Group 3 Winx Guineas at the Sunshine Coast last time out. Subsequent trial winner who will be cherry ripe for this. ZOUATICA (6) stalked the pace but couldn't quicken as required in the Narrandera Cup over a mile recently. Better when allowed to bowl along in front. Will be hard to catch if ridden that way under a light weight. SIBAAQ (1) is racing well but is now without a win in around three years. Worth including in exotics. CRANKY HARRY (3) was back in form at Doomben last start. A wet track brings him right into calculations.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on It's A Knockout.
8 04:35 GRANT BASTIAN CLASS 3 SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1200m
Plenty of pace from Helluva Teen, Lease and Wild Sensation matching motors ahead of Beebee. WILD SENSATION (7) continued his strong form of late with a comprehensive all-the-way win over 1300m at Scone last start. Steps up from a Class 1 to a Class 3 but his ratings suggest he is up to the challenge. MISS UCHITEL (10) has been freshened up since fading to a midfield finish over 1550m at Murwillumbah five weeks ago. One of the better chances from a nice gate with no weight on her back. BOAMBEE BEACH (9) draws the car park but is a mare in form who cannot be overlooked. Has found the line with gusto to get up for second at her last two appearances, both over shorter trips. Finds the ideal scenario today. WAHINE GALAXY (14) returned after more than a year on the sideline with a respectable third at the Gold Coast last start. Not drawn the best but with a pinch of luck can sneak into the top three. SNEAKY RICH (13) is trained locally and has won two from two here. Going well this prep and must be considered.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Wild Sensation to salute again.
