1 03:10 RACE COAST - BRIGHT FUTURE FOR SA HORSE RACING OPEN MAIDEN 1200m
CARNARVON (7) hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. He set the pace over 1400m at Turffontein last time before getting outrun late. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may find himself in the winner's enclosure. EMOYENI (5) has decent form lines to his credit. He showed speed over 1000m on the polytrack last time but found one too good on the day. Resumes from a spell and if not in need of the run he should pose a threat. LITTLE CRACKER (1) set the pace over this course and distance last time and stayed on well to finish fourth. He jumps from pole position and may be hard to peg back. EL CAPITAN (10) was his own worst enemy over 1600m last time as he over raced in the early stages. His form prior to that outing was good. He drops back to 1200m and tries the polytrack. With a bit of luck in the running should be involved in the fight to the finish.

GOTTA GO EDDIE (4) rallied late when finishing second of 10 last start over 1200m on this course when sent out as the favourte. He is having his peak run and from a good draw of four he should shed his maiden tag. FINE WINE (1) was disappointing over 2000m last time. She finished second in her penultimate outing over this course and distance. She has drawn pole position and should give the males a decent run for their money. GREEN MILE (6) ran on strongly when second of 11 over this course and distance last time. If keeping on a straight line, he should go close to winning. TAKEYOURBESTSHOT (10) has finished second in his last two starts. Marco van Rensburg is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the wide draw without using up too much energy. Looks close to a winning run.

TWO MILES WEST (8) has decent recent form lines to his name. He returns from a spell which may have done him the world of good. Rates well as a leading chance. IMPERIAL POWER (7) was running on too late when second over this course and distance last time. He is in a good space and cannot be discounted. AGRADO (3) was running on well when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will like the rise to 1600m.
