Plenty of speed from Royal Defense and Big Karri. RIPPER RUPERT (4) is a promising galloper who resumes off a heavily bet Maiden win at Kalgoorlie. Looks forward enough following a recent Belmont trial win. Should park just off the speed from the inside gate, and Chris Parnham's booking is a positive. FAVOURITE SONGS (2) found more like her best when narrowly beaten at Belmont. Cherry-ripe now and is a live chance. PYGMALION (3) was plainer at Belmont last time, but his form there and at Ascot prior stacks up. Come back to a shorter sprint, and he also has claims. CLASSIC RULER (7) will be fitter and will be around the mark putting his best foot forward. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ripper Rupert if the betting suggests stable confidence.
