Anticipating good pressure with many of these lining up for the first time. FICTIVE (5) returns after a break of a year. Finished last campaign with narrow second and can pick up where she left off on the back of a win in a recent Rockhampton trial. Has the blinkers applied today and should prove tough to beat. MOOCHI STARLIGHT (1) couldn't meet market expectations when resuming at Mackay but has run well second up prior. Could go either way from the wide gate but he boasts a solid record here and his best figures stack right up. BECAUSE I CAN (6) is an Exceedance filly kicking off. Fitter for a recent trial. Profiles well, worth watching for any market moves. RED ENVELOPE (4) is a three-start maiden who resumed from a long spell last start and was beaten 2.75 lengths when fourth over 1100m at Mackay. Sure to have come on with that run under the belt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fictive can return a winner.
