TOO DARN FINESSE (12) improving filly who can go quickly through her grades this time in. Indicated a win was imminent when she closed late for a narrow second over 1100m at Scone. Can overcome the wide gate and figure prominently. MANE CHARACTER (13) fourth-up for this and had excuses when a month between runs finishing fourth over this track and trip. Anywhere near her best can see her take a hand in the finish. SMASHING NOVA (9) handy gelding who got off the mark first-up with a gritty victory over 1210m at Port Macquarie.
