His narrow defeat at Bendigo three back reads well, and he should prove hard to peg back. TEWKESBURY (6) was expected to win over a staying trip at Pakenham and couldn't make any headway. The lead-up form was strong and the blinkers go on. He's won a hurdle trial since, and John Allen's booking suggests a bounce is likely. CECCHETTI (5) has been racing at Sandown-Hillside in better class and will be very competitive this grade back in distance. MORTHAN EFFICIENT (8) peaks on a quick backup and the step up to the middle distance suits. This surface holds no fears and his best form would have him well in the mix.
