THE PAVEMASTERS ASHHURST-POHANGINA CUP 1400m Track: SYNTHETIC True |

Wonderboy has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. EXAGGERATION (2) failed to fire in his only run this season when fresh up at Waverley in the spring. All of his form has been on this track, including 3 wins, and at this level, with the aid of a 2kg claim, he will be hard to beat. KOSTA (4) resumed with a solid effort for second at Tauherenikau 4 weeks ago, missing out on the win by only a short-head. He makes his poly track debut, but is trained here, so expect another big run. Each way. SAM'S TURN (8) was a touch flat when finishing fourth at Waverley last time out, and he probably enjoys a bit more space between his runs. He carries 4.5kg less this time, and his only win came on this track, so stick with him. Can win. DOUBTFUL SOUND (1) resumes from a spell on a track where he has a strong record, including 4 wins. A recent trial will have him ready to run a race fresh. Include in all top 4 combos. WONDERBOY (7) is a lightly tried 5YO resuming from a spell. He was third at a recent trial, and he will be ready to rumble. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kosta and Sam's Turn each way.
