Argyle Star, New York Skie and Coventry Reef to roll forward and set up a solid tempo. Tricky. ROYAL TROOPER (2) stepped up to this trip and improved sharply when blitzing the Maidens here by 4.7L. Couldn't have been more impressive and the apprentice sticks aboard and claims 3kg today. Peaks and can go on with the job. MY IDOL (1) won a CL5 at Scarpside over a mile and then wasn't far away at Pinjarra following in much stronger than this. He gives every sign that the middle distance will suit and is likely to be right into the finish. COVENTRY REEF (4) led and missed a nose here this trip from the front and then came back and didn't manage the wide gate when dropping back to the mile. Keeps the 3kg claim and jumps from an inside barrier today. He will run along and can get back on track. WASN'T ME (3) missed a nose this track/trip two back and that would see him in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Royal Trooper.
