Fast pace with Star Intrigue showing out and Truth I Fear crossing to apply some pressure. STAR INTRIGUE (2) returned from a spell in a $50k Class 1 over 1100m at Wellington and did a fine job to be beaten under a length after contesting the speed for the entire race. A clever claim brings him in well in this company. Only needs to hold that form to be taking this out. THE LEGAL FACTOR (12) was midfield all the way in a Class 1 over this distance at Wellington last time out. Lightly raced five-year-old who will appreciate the drop in grade and looks hard to beat on her home track. MISS PIERA (7) looks close to another win after boxing on gamely for a close second recently over this trip at Wellington. Has her share of weight but she is right in the mix on her best figures. POWDERFINGER (1) was hard to miss last start at Coonabarabran, flashing home from well back to be beaten under a length over 1100m. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and will relish getting to 1200m. DUPENNY (5) just missed in a similar race at Coonabarabran last time. Wide gate is the main concern. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Star Intrigue in the last.
