Expecting Chasing Aphrodite to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. ALMA RISE (6) has a fair bit of upside and should have finished a lot closer than eighth fresh up at Flemington 25 days ago. The step up from a mile to 2000m is ideal as she is unbeaten over this trip in 3 starts. On top. MUKTAMIL (11) ran on late when resuming from a spell at Sandown-Hillside a fortnight ago over 1600m. He will be getting fitter for some longer tests later on in the year and is capable of a top 3 finish here, especially with a 4kg drop in weight. SOUL OF SPAIN (10) caught the eye with a late finish for seventh when having his first start in Australia after making the move from Ireland last sprint. He has another 400m to travel this time, and even though he probably wants double that distance, he can run into the money here. CHASING APHRODITE (1) has plenty of talent.
