A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. NIGHT VIGIL (1) showed good speed when winning last time out over 1000m. She won over this course and distance, three runs ago. Apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia takes 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. BOSUM BUDDY (2) finished third to the top selection last start. She is racing well this prep and jumping from an inside draw has each-way claims. GREEN FLASH (3) ran a fair race over 1160m at Turffontein last time when finishing fifth of nine. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is having her peak run today and would not be a shock winner. VIRGIN RIVER (6) returned to winning form as the favourite last start over today's trip at Turffontein Inside. Is yet to miss the frame in two starts over this course and distance. In form and should prove hard to beat.
