Should race a lot closer today from a far better draw. Goes well third-up so a spike in form is on the cards. BRITISH STATESMAN (2) has improved in the last couple of runs when ridden aggressively, leading all the way to salute at his latest appearance over this distance at Wellington. Big chance again in a similar race with just 0.5kgs more. MIKE (8) will be better for the run but might sneak into the frame fresh from a five-month absence.
