Genuine tempo with Sunday and Damascus Gate up front. OENOLOGY (1) tough gelding who drops sharply in grade and has an excellent record over this track and trip. Covered ground in the run and outclassed when eighth to Tavros over 1600m in the Gunnedah Cup. Maps well for this with the 4kg claim. Hard to stop. SMART BUY (2) back marker desperate for an improving surface and fast tempo. Has a good record over this trip and gets her chance with Weatherlake's 4kg claim. Look for her to swoop late. THE COMANCHE (10) three runs back have been encouraging and doesn't have to improve much to win this. Closed strongly in the heavy (10) going to finish second over 1509m at Port Macquarie. Must be included on the strength of that form. CORPSMAN (11) dropped in grade with a surprise victory over 1400m at Tamworth in BM50 class. Minor place chance.
