Moderate tempo with Cheerful Cat leading the way. CHEERFUL CAT (2) has improved as he has gotten stronger this year and was half a length from the winner when running third at Ipswich just over 3 weeks ago. He has a more favourable draw this time and is overdue for his first win. TWILIGHT STEPS (11) has been placed twice in his career, and both of those placings have been on this circuit. He drops 6.5kg from his last start seventh at Warwick and can figure in the finish again. SHOW ME THE STARS (8) caught the eye with a strong late finish at Doomben in a stronger field last start, finishing sixth. A wet track would help her, and she can have the last say this time.
