Tatsumaki is expected to lead at a strong tempo.
The unbeaten TATSUMAKI (3) had his first run for the Hayes stable and was forty-one months between runs when a game all-the-way winner over 1200m at Caulfield last start. Backed heavily that day so it came as no surprise. Subsequent jump-out winner who will keep improving and looks too good for these. ATLANTIC SPIRIT (9) made late ground to get up for second last time out over 1000m at Sandown. Fitter now and looking for this trip. Good quinella option. TITLE FIGHTER (4) had a six-week let-up before a poor performance over 1200m at Moonee Valley recently. Down in grade and capable of a lot better. SHESALLSHENANIGANS (6) just missed in the rich Echuca El Dorado over 1200m at her last appearance five weeks ago. Races well here and gets in nicely after Bates' claim so must be respected. VELOCE CARRO (1) has been disappointing this prep but is worth throwing in the exotics in case he finds some form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tatsumaki to win. Will be short so exactas 3-9, 3-4 and 3-6 are good options.
