A keen contest with Gardenzio and Smart Shot leading from Touch Of Navy. BLACK DUKE (1) was outstanding two back in a strong form race at Doomben, storming home to get up for third at the end over 1350m. Looked flat over the same trip at Wyong last start in a run worth overlooking. Nicely graded today and can bounce back. SMART SHOT (6) raced midfield and failed to make inroads when resuming in a Country Championship qualifier over this distance at Tamworth last time out. Goes well second-up and this is an easier assignment. Likely improver. INVASIVE DREAMS (8) made good late ground to get up for third on a heavy surface over 1350m at Wyong recently. Genuine mare who looks a sound each-way proposition. RED BERYL (11) has been a bit plain of late but drops sharply in the weights and can sneak into the frame at odds. REBEL'S EDGE (9) is another who is getting down in the weights and can produce a better run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Black Duke at each-way odds looks a nice bet.
