Expecting Scoundrel to lead Wal's Angels at just a moderate tempo. SCOUNDREL (5) is in a top Sydney stable, and two starts back, he led when narrowly beaten at Gosford over this trip. He races forward, and the in-form Loy rides. Fully fit now, and can get back on track. WINGS OF CARMEN (6) trialled well but needed the first-up outing in a strong form race at Wagga. He's right up to this at best, and the step-up to the mile is suitable. McDougall is a positive jockey switch and he's sure to use the inside gate to advantage. There's give in the track and that suits WAL'S ANGELS (4), who's been plain his last couple on good surfaces. He's back in grade and maps for a soft run. Capable and will get his chance. GOODNIGHT BARLOW (7) is flying for the new yard (Potter), and was backed into the red winning a Sapphire Coast CL1 over 1600m. He keeps improving and tumbles in weight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scoundrel looks well-placed.
