GOING: S(5)

TAB FEDERAL 1300m

Track: Soft 5   Rain (Max: 22)   Rail: +10m 1000m-380m, +7m Remainder. (Pent: 4.39)

Plenty of pace from the outset with Liquor Talk and Silent Impact leading the charge. MOUNTAIN CHATTER (7) is hard fit and busting to win. 10 days ago, he got a long way back and was only beaten a half length in a $150,000 country championships wild card at Goulburn. He brought threatening form to that and maps for a soft run. Looks well placed. DEMANDING MO (2) went close this track/grade first-up and then came back and was beaten just 2.3L in the Listed National Sprint. The former South Australian is improved, and maps to get every chance. SILENT IMPACT (1) has switched from the Waterhouse-Bott yard to the local Kelley camp, on a 54-day return. He has metropolitan form that stacks right up and flies on the fresh side. The late betting moves will be key. MY LAST HOORAY (8) is lightly raced and won three on the trot before a spell. He didn't have much luck resuming at Randwick. He sits on the minimum with a 3kg claim atop and using the inside gate will get every chance to run out the longer sprint. IMASUPERSTAR (3) is 2/2 this track/distance and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Mountain Chatter.
