Abundant pace from Firestorm Boy, Akauwheo and Alpine Rose vying for the lead with Phils Colours on their backs. INSTEAD (4) is going nicely through her grades and will have little trouble running a solid 1800m. Made it two wins from her last three starts when a fast finishing winner over 1600m at Dubbo. Meeting a tougher field today, but hard to ignore in this rich vein of form. PHILS COLOURS (3) stretches out to the 1800m for the first time and is chasing his fourth-straight victory. Anchored with the 58kg when a fast finishing winner over 1400m at Warren. Nice weight drop and expected to get the journey. ALPINE ROSE (6) took control early and never headed when a slick winner over 1600m at Warren. Expected to get the trip and goes into the exotics. JOSHUA (7) on the quick backup after disappointing in easier company at the latest. Gets a better setup today and is worth thought. SUGGESTED PLAY: Instead and Phils Colours can fight it out.
