Genuine tempo with Richter to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. THE MANAGER (2) made it two wins from his last three runs when he took over a long way from home then kept going to land the cash over this distance at Wellington last start. Has progressed nicely this prep and in a weaker race than last time he is a great chance to score again. PATRICK MAY (1) found 1280m at Orange last start a bit sharp but he did find the line well. The winner of three from eight at 1400m so this looks a nice assignment. ALWAYS A SAINT (3) run a much better race in a Class 3 here last time out. Should figure in the finish again. MS REEVES (8) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Manager on top but there are plenty of chances.
