Strong tempo assured from Brullen and Steely Hustler leading the charge. CLAVEL (7) won her maiden nicely at her third outing when last seen at Pakenham, beating a handy field on that occasion as a double figure chance. Looks like an improving type who can go on with it here. MISS WINSLET (3) wasn't far away in a stronger race at Sandown Hillside last start, and the run two back at the Lakeside circuit when third reads very well for this. Rates a strong hope. BOWER BOY (1) ran well fresh at Bendigo, sitting on speed and sticking on nicely for third. Fitter for that and can run a good race. STEELY HUSTLER (9) broke through for her second when last seen here in an easier race. More depth here but is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Clavel to win.
