Solid tempo set by Favoured Son and Santanova. SANTANOVA (3) was very good through her debut campaign and just missed at this track at the end of last campaign. Brad Parnham was on board for her trials coming in and remains in the saddle today. She has the speed to offset the wide barrier and she can resume on a winning note. DENVER AFFAIR (5) just missed last start down the Pinjarra Straight as a 30-1 chance and the winner there has been solid in Saturday Grade since. Can sit close to the speed again from a favourable alley and can be right in the finish is she runs up to recent efforts. THE CALABRESE (1) scored a good win two back before finishing behind Denver Affair last start down the Pinjarra Straight. Back around a turn today may help his chances, however the wide draw is a niggle. Right in the mix on recent form. MAGNACHINE (7) is racing in top order recently and can put her best foot forward. TORQUED UP (4) is better than he's shown his past couple and won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Santanova looks the one to beat.
