BEAUTY EIGHT (1) has raced on the speed and filled a minor placing at his two runs this prep, both over shorter journeys on the Gold Coast poly. Looks perfectly placed out to 1400m on a seven-day back-up. Clear top pick. LABARNA (4) last raced six weeks ago when a respectable third over the mile at Grafton. Has had plenty of chances but while fresh he can play a role in this shallow maiden. FLEE WITH ME (12) returned from a spell with a moderate effort after missing the kick over 1200m at Tuncurry recently. Can improve with that run under the belt over an extra furlong. JED (3) is still a maiden after twenty-one runs but should be competitive here based on his good fourth over this distance at Grafton last time. TOWERS HILL (9) is on trial at this trip but can sneak into the top four at the second run back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Beauty Eight.
