A solid tempo anticipated with Bois D'argent and Just Fine ahead of Palmetto and Zarakem. CEOLWULF (1) easiest assignment he's contested in some time and desperate for this trip now on the quick backup. Surged late when a narrow third in the G1 George Ryder over 1500m here last start. Gets through all conditions and look for him charging late. PALMETTO (7) finally ticked the 2000m box when leading throughout and holding off all challengers when a narrow winner of the LR Canberra Cup. Gets map favours with the drop in weight and not to be underestimated. JUST FINE (3) failed to sprint with them first up and worth noting three of his seven wins have come second up. Far from disgraced when ninth over 1500m at this track in the G2 Ajax Stakes. Will roll forward and improve sharply. BOIS D'ARGENT nice return when third over 1800m in the G2 Peter Young at Caulfield. Gets through the conditions and must be kept safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ceolwulf to win on the quick backup.
