Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Athlos. DANON THE VOLCANO (3) is back after a break of nine weeks. At the last run before the layoff he finished seventh over 1600m at Tokyo. Has ability and can get off the mark. COSMO FREDDIE (6) could only manage fourth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1600m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. SOUND ROCKS (14) was in the money here when resuming two runs back then could only manage fourth at this venue over 1400m four weeks ago. Solid top-three chance. SWORD CUT (1) is building towards his maiden success, the latest effort a solid third over 1600m at this circuit beaten 3.5 lengths. Well placed and there is no reason why he cannot find winning ways.
